Accountabilities:
As a Compliance Associate, you will support compliance operations by maintaining accurate documentation, improving internal processes, and ensuring regulatory alignment. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with the creation, review, and implementation of internal compliance documentation, policies, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Ensuring internal processes align with applicable legal and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding employment standards and operational compliance.
- Managing compliance-related administrative tasks, maintaining document control, and organizing regulatory records.
- Supporting employee onboarding processes, contract tracking, and employee data management through HR platforms such as Employment Hero.
- Assisting with internal audits, identifying potential compliance risks, and recommending improvements to operational workflows.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance compliance procedures, documentation practices, and internal controls.
- Monitoring updates in employment regulations and compliance standards, providing summaries and recommendations when needed.
- Maintaining confidentiality and accuracy when handling sensitive business and employee information.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate is a proactive and organized compliance professional with strong attention to detail and an interest in legal and operational processes. You should bring:
- A degree in Law, Business, Compliance, or a related field; legal experience or paralegal certification is preferred.
- At least 2 years of experience in compliance, legal operations, administrative support, or a related role.
- Understanding of Australian workplace compliance requirements and employment law fundamentals.
- Experience using HRIS platforms such as Employment Hero or similar systems is highly desirable.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to create clear documentation and summaries.
- Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage confidential information.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines in a remote work environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a methodical approach to compliance processes.
