The Credit Analyst III - Ag plays a crucial role in evaluating the creditworthiness of commercial and agricultural clients, supporting lending decisions, and safeguarding financial risk. This role involves analyzing complex financial statements, preparing comprehensive credit reports, and recommending appropriate credit structures. You will collaborate with relationship managers, mentor junior analysts, and participate in portfolio monitoring to ensure compliance and sound financial practices. The position offers exposure to diverse commercial credit transactions, hands-on financial modeling, and opportunities to influence decision-making across lending operations. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills are essential, along with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Accountabilities:
- Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns, balance sheets, P&L statements, and other relevant documentation
- Prepare financial spreads and perform in-depth analysis of historical and projected cash flows, ratios, and collateral valuations
- Evaluate credit quality, identify risks, and suggest appropriate credit structures and risk ratings
- Author comprehensive credit analysis reports incorporating quantitative data and narrative findings
- Ensure compliance with credit policy, federal regulations, and internal controls
- Assist with portfolio monitoring, covenant testing, and support relationship managers with credit decisions
- Mentor junior analysts and contribute to training and knowledge-sharing initiatives
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field
- 7–9 years of banking experience, including 4–6 years in a similar credit analyst role
- Experience with financial spread software and commercial banking operations
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with high attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Commercial banking experience preferred
