Accountabilities:
As a Data Engineer III, you will take ownership of designing, maintaining, and improving scalable data infrastructure while supporting engineering teams with reliable and efficient solutions. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing, building, and maintaining highly available PostgreSQL databases and supporting data infrastructure.
- Leading complex data engineering initiatives from architecture and implementation through deployment and long-term operational support.
- Developing efficient relational data models to support applications, integrations, reporting, and future business needs.
- Optimizing database performance through query tuning, indexing strategies, execution plan analysis, partitioning, and configuration improvements.
- Troubleshooting complex production issues involving databases, replication, storage, infrastructure, and application performance.
- Building and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions that enable reliable data movement across systems.
- Developing cloud-based data solutions using AWS services such as RDS, Lambda, S3, EventBridge, IAM, and CloudWatch.
- Improving platform reliability through monitoring, alerting, automation, backup strategies, disaster recovery, and operational tooling.
- Acting as a subject matter expert for database technologies and guiding engineering teams on data architecture best practices.
- Reviewing database changes, migrations, and application designs to ensure scalability, security, and maintainability.
- Mentoring junior data engineers through technical coaching, design reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Communicating technical decisions through documentation, architecture discussions, and cross-functional collaboration.
