You will engage directly with researchers, facilitating programs that promote the use of data for groundbreaking studies while helping translate research insights into future commercial opportunities. The position involves building strong relationships, designing scalable programs, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance impact. You will act as a bridge between the research community and product teams, gathering feedback and identifying trends to guide future offerings. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a dynamic, mission-driven environment and enjoys balancing strategic planning with hands-on program management. Travel, including international trips, may be required up to 25% of the time.
Accountabilities
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with academic researchers and institutions to support research goals
- Plan and execute programs that increase awareness and adoption of advanced data products in academia
- Connect research outputs to potential commercial opportunities, aligning insights with business objectives
- Represent the organization at conferences, panels, and online or in-person events to evangelize data usage
- Gather and synthesize feedback from the research community to inform product and program improvements
- Collaborate cross-functionally to design scalable, repeatable programs and initiatives
- Track and report on program impact and outcomes, identifying areas for continuous improvement
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in remote sensing, Earth/Environmental Science, or related field
- 6+ years of experience in research, academic program management, or related domain
- Experience managing strategic accounts and building collaborative relationships to achieve shared goals
- Comfortable presenting to researchers and stakeholders in both online and in-person settings
- Strong project and program management skills, capable of developing scalable initiatives
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and solve complex problems
- Experience in academic research or remote sensing is highly desirable
