As Finance Manager, you will play a central role in ensuring financial health, accuracy, and sustainability across global initiatives. You will manage budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and grant management while collaborating with cross-functional teams, project managers, and stakeholders. This role requires balancing strategic financial planning with hands-on execution, delivering insights that drive operational and programmatic decisions. You will oversee complex financial processes, track variances, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations. By providing guidance and mentorship, you will support the development of finance staff and foster efficiency in workflows. The position offers exposure to diverse projects and donors in a dynamic, mission-driven environment, with the opportunity to influence both short- and long-term financial strategies.
Accountabilities
- Develop, monitor, and coordinate budgets, forecasts, and financial plans for initiatives and projects
- Track actual spending, analyze variances, and prepare detailed financial reports for internal teams and donors
- Ensure proper coding of expenses, invoice processing, and compliance with organizational policies and regulations
- Support grant and contract management, including proposal preparation, renewals, reporting, and sub-award oversight
- Maintain financial databases, general ledger records, and prepare ad hoc reports such as labor distribution and contract reports
- Conduct long-term financial sustainability analysis, identifying funding gaps and resource allocation needs
- Mentor and provide guidance to finance staff while collaborating with regional finance teams across multiple geographies
- Assist with audits, complex financial inquiries, and cross-functional coordination to support strategic priorities
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 4+ years of relevant experience in financial management, accounting, or related roles
- Strong technical skills with relational databases, Excel, and financial modeling
- Knowledge of accounting principles, grant management, and reporting systems
- Experience with budget planning, forecasting, and full-cost budgeting
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in Portuguese
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and regions
- Prior experience in non-profit or multi-stakeholder environments is desirable
