As Senior Specialist for Contract & Catalogue Management, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining contracts and catalogues in SAP Ariba on behalf of all METRO countries, validating country-submitted data, ensuring compliance with global configuration standards, and peer-reviewing work as additional specialists join. You will be the Ariba subject matter expert for the team.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and validate contract and catalogue requests submitted by country Procurement teams via the shared inbox and tracker
- Create and configure contracts and catalogues in SAP Ariba in line with global templates and LUCA programme standards
- Perform data validation checks on all incoming requests — identifying missing fields, inconsistencies or non-compliant data before processing
- Manage the contract and catalogue request tracker on a daily basis, updating status, flagging blockers and communicating with country teams
- Act as peer reviewer for Specialist-level work, ensuring quality and first-time-right accuracy
- Serve as Ariba subject matter expert — advising the Team Lead and country teams on configuration options, limitations and best practices
- Liaise directly with country stakeholders to resolve data queries and obtain approvals
Continuous Improvement:
- Identify recurring data errors or process gaps and propose structural fixes (e.g. request form improvements, quality gate checklists)
- Support the development and maintenance of process documentation and standard operating procedures
- Contribute to post-peak capacity planning and potential redeployment planning from Q1 2027
Skills & Competencies:
- Expert-level knowledge of SAP Ariba — specifically contract module, catalogue management and Guided Buying configuration
- High attention to detail and strong data accuracy discipline — first-time-right mindset is essential
- Ability to manage multiple requests in parallel, prioritise effectively and meet SLA targets
- Clear and professional communication in English, with experience working with cross-cultural stakeholders
- Structured working style — able to set up trackers, templates and SOPs from scratch
- Proactive problem-solver — flags issues early rather than waiting for escalation
- Ability to train and support junior team members
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, IT or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in procurement operations or indirect procurement, with a strong focus on SAP Ariba
- Hands-on experience with SAP Ariba contract management and/or catalogue configuration — mandatory
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP MM is a plus
- Experience in a shared services, GCC or multi-country environment is preferred
- Fluency in English is required
