Moxie·about 6 hours ago
At Moxie, we empower ambitious aesthetic entrepreneurs to build profitable, independent practices—without burnout, overwhelm, or guesswork. In just a few years, we've grown from an idea to a global, remote-first team now supporting 700+ practices nationwide.
Our purpose is simple: to unlock sustainable success for aesthetic entrepreneurs, at every stage of their journey.
About The Role
We're looking for a Senior Product Engineer to own and deliver medium-to-large financial systems projects as a core contributor on our FinOps team — building the payments, billing, and financial-operations infrastructure that powers real med spa businesses at scale.
You'll also be stepping into a broader technical leadership role: participating in Moxie's Engineering Architecture Process, mentoring IC1–IC2 engineers, and helping raise the bar on engineering practices across the team.
This role is part of FinOps' build-out for H2 2026, and part of a broader shift toward direct-hire engineers in the Americas as we transition off contracted headcount. You'll join a team working on high-stakes financial workflows (Stripe, LayerFi, Cherry, and more), with real ownership over architecture and technical direction from day one.
This role is fully remote and open to candidates based in Colombia, Brazil, the Dominican Republic, or Chile.
Our objectives for the role
Own and deliver medium-to-large FinOps projects end-to-end — from design through production — as a hands-on senior IC.
Build deep expertise in FinOps systems and business context (Stripe, LayerFi, Cherry, and related billing/payments workflows), becoming a trusted technical resource for the team.
Participate actively in Moxie's Engineering Architecture Process, contributing to and influencing technical decisions within your domain.
Own at least one team- or domain-level non-project initiative — such as testing standards, documentation, or code review practices — that raises engineering quality beyond your own projects.
Mentor IC1–IC2 engineers and act as a culture carrier for strong engineering practices, growing toward Staff (IC-4) scope over time.
We're looking for:
Strong backend engineering experience, including schema/API design, data modeling, and async processing (Python/Django experience a plus).
Deep PostgreSQL fluency — query optimization, schema design, migrations, and data-integrity patterns.
Experience building and hardening third-party integrations, ideally in payments or financial systems, with strong attention to failure handling and idempotency.
A track record of owning medium-to-large, sometimes ambiguous projects end-to-end as a senior IC, including tradeoff decisions and cross-functional coordination.
Comfort influencing architecture and technical direction beyond your own immediate project scope.
Experience mentoring engineers and raising the technical bar for a team.
Excitement for high-ownership, early-stage environments where decisions matter and aren't buried under bureaucracy.
Why Join Us?
Above all, we're in this to empower small business owners to own and grow their businesses. Med spa providers depend on financial systems that just work — this role gives you direct ownership over that reliability.
This is a senior role with real scope and a clear path toward Staff (IC-4): you'll own systems, not just tickets, and help shape how the FinOps team builds.
We have much left to build. Given the market feedback we're seeing and our team's experience, we believe we're writing the early chapters of a real success story — and this role gets to help write the financial-systems chapter of it.
