As Marqetaโs Compliance Officer - Product Advisory, you will serve as a trusted compliance advisor to Product Management, Engineering, Market Business teams, Partnerships, Operations and Legal teams, ensuring that products and services are designed, launched, and scaled in compliance with applicable federal and state consumer-finance laws, bank partner requirements, and regulatory expectations.
This is a high visibility role and will be critical in the development of products and services in the Payments, Lending, and Deposit spaces. This role sits at the intersection of product development and regulatory execution, translating regulatory requirements into practical product guidance while balancing customer experience, partner bank expectations, and business objectives. The individual will work closely with issuing/lending bank partners, internal stakeholders, and program clients to support compliant product innovation across the fintech ecosystem.

The Impact Youโll Have
- Provide day-to-day compliance advisory support to Product, Engineering, and Business teams throughout the product lifecycle (ideation, design, launch, post-launch monitoring)
- Responsible for active stakeholder engagement by ensuring close collaboration with key functions across the Company and working closely with the Legal team and other subject matter experts on relevant compliance projects
- Collaborate with the Senior Director and Senior Manager to review and approve product features, customer flows, disclosures, pricing, and fees for compliance with applicable laws and bank partner standards.
- Act as an advisor and provide guidance to business and infrastructure functions, as well as coordinate the collection of data and information in connection with data driven projects
- Influence teams within the Compliance function and act as a mentor to the team members
- Consistently monitor and assess external industry trends and regulatory environment to help shape Marqetaโs compliance strategy and governance related to product compliance
- Keep an active inventory of compliance risks associated with client specific product constructs.
- Work with the other leaders to foster a culture of compliance within the organization through various initiatives, including organization-wide trainings, communications campaigns, and workshops
- Support change management reviews for new products, features, or program changes.
- Assist in preparing regulatory responses as necessary or appropriate
- Partner with Legal and Compliance leadership on regulatory interpretations, risk assessments, and escalation of material compliance issues.
- Ensure that compliance programs overseeing product clearly articulate risk reduction and demonstrate enhanced control environment with evidence of design and operational effectiveness
Who You Are
- 8+ years of regulatory compliance experience, preferably in a bank or FinTech environment
- Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain cross-functional working relationships
- Understand new and existing laws, rules, and regulations (e.g. Reg Z, V, DD, CC, B, E, etc.) to determine requirements for various areas and changes that need to be implemented
- Comprehensive knowledge of bank and/or payments financial ecosystems
- Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
- Continuous improvement mindset
- Demonstrated effective verbal and written communication skills
- Strong technology skills
- Ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and rapidly changing environment
- Ability to prioritize competing priorities in a logical manner
- Ability to work nights and weekends, when needed

- National: A baseline tier that applies to most of the geographic territory of the United States.

When determining salaries, we consider several factors including, but not limited to, skills, prior experience, and work location. The new-hire base salary range for this position is:
- National: $125,100 - $156,400
- Premium: $136,600 - $170,700
- Premium Plus: $147,900 - $184,900
