Based in London and reporting to the EVP EMEA, the EMEA Regional Marketing team is responsible for overseeing the execution of the title specific marketing plans within the EMEA region. This includes implementation of global marketing strategy together with understanding territory nuance and empowered to represent territory feedback to head office.
The EMEA Media Director reports to the VP of Marketing, EMEA. This role is for a fixed-term period of 14 months to cover maternity leave.
Key Responsibilities
Title & campaign management:
- Lead Paid Media for UPI slate
- Ensure global marketing and media strategy for each title lands with local teams and is effectively adapted to local nuances and release strategy.
- Oversee review and approval of all local media plans, collaborating with Jr Manager and agency resource as required. Scrutinize strategic approach, understand local adaptations, encourage adoption of learnings, innovation and best practices, and highlight new initiatives or tests to inform HO and other EMEA teams.
- Supervise financial planning of each titleβs marketing budget, analyzing requests for budget changes in lead up to release and post-opening, and in reaction to campaign signals and box office performance. Monitor media booking deadlines to ensure marketing commitment schedules are aligned with overall release strategy.
- Act as the primary strategic media point of contact for all markets OpCo, UIP and Licensees in EMEA
- Lead regional media campaigns on key releases, from strategic development to planning and implementation through post campaign analysis, in collaboration with Jr Manager.
- Provide summaries and communicate key updates related to local media campaigns to EMEA management and wider team, Home Office teams and other stakeholders, participating in weekly review meetings and contributing to regular and ad-hoc reporting and presentations.
Conduit between Home Office and local teams:
- Build strong working relationships with stakeholders across EMEA. Represent and advocate for local marketsβ needs, ensuring efficient interplay of central vs local media support, coordinating creative approval for special media activations, facilitating access to platform support and media credits, supporting local teams in case of issues with appointed media agencies.
- Lead proactive sharing of best practice across markets, circulating ideas, facilitating inspiration sessions with relevant media partners.
- Act as an extension to the HO Media team, promoting the execution of international media initiatives across EMEA local teams.
AdPub management
- Work with HO Media, Finance and Distribution to identify optimal AdPub by market
- Manage Marketing input during title Greenlight process
- Manage annual budget process working with Finance and Distribution
- Monitor and report on ongoing AdPub trends to inform EMEA Regional and HO teams: media inflation, investment trends
Media strategy leadership:
- Work closely with HO Media and local teams to advance global learning agenda, evolving areas of focus over time, facilitating sharing of learnings and participation of a wide range of markets to testing on relevant topics.
- Work with appointed media agency to identify and update priority principles for media planning, to maintain an effective approach to promoting our releases.
- Surface opportunities for testing new platforms, formats or approaches; maintain relationship with key platforms and media owners.
Team responsibilities:
- Presenting media strategies to Head Office, regional office and local markets
- Develop and lead media presentations to UIP and Licensee markets
- Stakeholder management across UPI London business
- Day-to-day support and management of Jr Manager.
- Deep understanding of marketing, media planning principles and audience strategy.
- Experience working within media or entertainment industry either client or agency side. International experience would be a bonus.
- Data strategy and analysis. Experience in analyzing large volumes of data and understanding effective media planning strategies to produce insights for optimization and learning.
