NBCUniversal is looking for a Vice President, Media Security to join our Global Security Operations
team in New York City! In this challenging yet rewarding role, you will work alongside television
professionals and world class talent ensuring the overall safety of the site, employees, show
guests, and audience members.
In this role, you'll oversee security operations across the New York City Metropolitan area and lead a
large team of security personnel. You will oversee the team who ensures NBCUniversal’s
employees and visitors; intellectual property and assets are protected and secure. You will report
directly to the SVP, Media Security.
Responsibilities
• Lead a team dedicated to designing and executing top-tier security programs that safeguard NBCU personnel and assets against criminal activity, theft, fraud, workplace violence, sabotage, and terrorism.
• Supervise talent protection at large-scale, high-profile events where security needs are constantly evolving due to dynamic threats.
• Use key metrics to identify security shortcomings, set goals to address them, and implement a sophisticated, standardized approach to security across all operations.
• Manage the development and implementation of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to ensure clear, repeatable protocols for a wide array of security concerns.
• Direct security planning, training, and activities for productions—including outdoor events—in close partnership with local, state, and federal law enforcement. Examples include live concerts, Saturday Night Live, Rockefeller Christmas Tree Lighting, and the Thanksgiving Day Parade, all of which may require substantial security efforts for high-profile talent and collaboration with corporate security and law enforcement agencies.
• Maintain ongoing connections with local, state, and federal law enforcement, intelligence, and related government entities.
• Oversee the management of the Security Operations Center (SOC).
• Oversee and directly manage third-party security vendors, including the large guard force responsible for protecting NBCU staff and assets at 30 Rockefeller Center as well as other sites.
• Work alongside NBCUniversal Global Security Operations leadership and other industry security experts to prioritize projects and allocate resources based on assessed risk.
• Coordinate with departments such as Facilities, Business Continuity and Crisis Management, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS), Real Estate, Medical, Legal, Human Resources, and Communications to plan for and respond to security and crisis-related incidents.
• Collaborate with NBCU Corporate Investigations security breaches, supporting disciplinary or legal processes as needed.
• Build professional relationships within the media industry to benchmark practices and share intelligence and best practices.
• Provide ongoing, polished, and effective communication about security issues and decisions that affect business operations to the appropriate internal and external stakeholders.
Required Qualifications
• 15+ years of experience in security leadership and/or security operations in a corporate environment, law enforcement, military services or related experience
• Prior roles requiring collaboration with local, state and federal law enforcement and other government agencies
• 10+ years of management experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation skills, time management and organizational skills
• Experience maintaining international contacts and partnerships
• Experience with international travel for global events
• Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred, advanced degree in related field a plus
• Experience managing security technology, CCTV system, and alarm systems.
Desired Characteristics
• Experience managing a budget and applying financial analysis (e.g. building and presenting business case) with a multi-million-dollar security budget.
• Previous corporate responsibility for Security and/or Crisis Management for a multi-national employer in the media and entertainment industry
• Experience within federal or local law enforcement and/or military services
• Proven ability to partner with divisions external to Global Security Organization (e.g. Facilities, Human Resources, Medical, Legal, Labor Relations and Communications representatives)
• Experience leading, managing, and executing talent and executive protection.
• Experience making recommendations to executive management supported by thorough analysis using financial information and other relevant empirical data Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills, dealing effectively with all levels of management
• HR 218 certification
• Successful record of influencing senior leadership and stakeholders to implement strategy and achieve results in times that can be fast paced, pressurized and of high volume
• Proven ability to build and sustain excellent relationships at multiple levels and across divisions

Salary: $210,000 - $240,000 (bonus and long-term incentive eligible)
