Newsweek is looking to bring on a Head of Consumer Social to our Social Team.
TheHeadofConsumerSocialwillleadtrafficandengagementstrategiesacrossFacebook, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit,X,andotherconsumerplatforms.Thisrolewillalsodrivesocialvideostrategyand influencer-led growth in partnership with the VP of Growth Markets and/or others.
This is a full-time role, working 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. You will be able to work from home, from anywhere in the UK, or from our office space at Canary Wharf, London.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement platform-specificstrategies to grow social referrals, engagement, and monetization across consumer social platforms.
- Leadsocialvideostrategy and growthacrossFacebook,Instagram,TikTok,andemerging platforms. Partner with video and multimedia teams to ensure success.
- Own and execute social campaigns to promote Newsweek original series, subscriptions,new products and offerings.
- Partner with Editorial, Audience, and Product teams to execute cross-functional projects aimed at improving newsroom efficiency, digital visibility, and user engagement.
- Track and report on socialmedia performance, proactivelyidentifying opportunities to improve engagement and platform referrals.
- Develop and participate in A/B testing initiatives and help implement learnings into future posts and social media strategies.
- Support and growcommunityengagementandcontentamplification.
- Collaboratewiththevideo/multimediateamandVPofGrowthMarketson monetization strategies and new revenue growth.
- PromoteYouTubecontentonothersocialmediaplatformsandsupportinfluencer-led audience growth in line with newsroom strategy.
- Manage social team direct reports, including responsibility for performance management, coaching /development, workload prioritization, and day-to-day oversight.
- Anyotherreasonabledutiestomeettheneedsofthebusiness.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record of successfully managing social media platforms, developing consumer engagement strategies and monetization for a global newsroom.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of representing the brand in a professional manner across all channels.
- Demonstrable expertise in analyzing social media metrics and reporting on campaign effectiveness to inform future activity.
- Familiarity with relevant UK data protection and advertising regulations, ensuring all content is compliant and ethically produced.
- Ability to lead and motivate a team, fostering creativity and collaboration to drive innovative social campaigns.
- Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure.
