Your responsibilities will include:
- Building and maintaining backend services and APIs that support Nitra's fintech and healthcare software products
- Writing clean, well-structured JavaScript (and other relevant languages) to deliver reliable, scalable features
- Collaborating closely with senior engineers to understand system architecture and relational database design
- Participating in code reviews, contributing to best practices, and continuously improving code quality
- Supporting cross-functional teams by understanding product requirements and translating them into technical solutions
- Working across time zones, including availability for nightly calls when collaborating with global teammates
- Owning assigned tasks end-to-end — flagging blockers, communicating progress, and delivering on commitments
You have:
- at least 3 years of software engineering experience
- A degree from a top engineering university
- Proficiency and fluency in both English and Mandarin
- Proficiency in JavaScript; familiarity with additional programming languages is a plus
- A foundational understanding of relational databases and system design principles
- Strong communication skills — you can clearly articulate technical ideas and collaborate with teammates
- A genuine interest in joining an early-stage startup and the drive to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
- Willingness to work on-site 4 days per week in Taipei and to accommodate nightly calls across time zones
