You will grow Planet’s Power Platform and Business Applications practice - helping organizations modernize legacy systems, automate business processes, and build low-code solutions across Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, Copilot Studio, and Dynamics 365. Success in this role comes from a blend of new-business development, expanding relationships with existing customers alongside our account teams, and partnering with Microsoft to reach and serve their customers. - New-business development – generate net-new pipeline and revenue through outbound prospecting, marketing campaigns, referrals, and presence at industry conferences and networking events.
- Sell-through with Planet account teams – partner with our existing account teams to expand relationships and grow Power Platform opportunities within our current customer base.
- Sell-through with Microsoft – collaborate with Microsoft field and Business Applications teams to identify and serve their customers, leveraging co-sell programs such as Copilot + Power Accelerate where applicable.
Across these motions, you will:
- Position Planet’s Power Platform professional services to help customers accelerate their application backlog and consolidate legacy or third-party platforms.
- Identify and qualify high-value low-code scenarios such as legacy system replacement, process automation, Smartsheet/SharePoint/Excel modernization, external portals via Power Pages, and AI-infused solutions using Copilot Studio and AI Builder.
- Lead with business outcomes over technology, translating low-code capabilities into value for business and IT decision makers (CIO, IT Director, business process owners).
- Develop, maintain, and grow meaningful relationships with customers, partners, and Microsoft teams that expand Planet’s reach and create new opportunities.
- Build fluency in the Power Platform value proposition and licensing model, including how it spans Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365.
- Frame solution-oriented projects by engaging Cloud Strategists, Solution Architects, and the Business Applications practice at the right stage, helping ensure proposals are compelling, compliant, and competitive.
- Partner across the organization in the identification, development, and prompt delivery of SOWs and RFX responses tailored to each client’s unique needs.
- Provide timely, accurate forecasts and pipeline reporting to leadership, executing in accordance with Planet’s established sales methods, processes, and tools.
- Meet or exceed bookings and pipeline-generation targets by prospecting, qualifying, and driving opportunities to close.
Qualifications
- Proven success in technology sales with a track record of sourcing and closing new business.
- Experience selling Power Platform, Business Applications, Dynamics 365, or low-code/custom application development services is strongly preferred.
- A working understanding of the Microsoft technology landscape and how Power Platform delivers value across Microsoft 365, Azure, and Dynamics 365.
- Ability to translate technical low-code capabilities into business value and to lead outcome-based conversations with business and IT decision makers.
- A proven Trusted Advisor who builds on both new and existing relationships to deliver innovative professional services solutions.
- Experience developing meaningful partner and channel relationships that generate pipeline and accelerate deals.
- Ability to prospect and cross-sell using both traditional methods (phone, email, campaigns) and creative, “out of the box” approaches.
- Previous success as an Account Executive, Technical Seller, or similar role at a Microsoft-focused or technology services organization is ideal.
- Experience working with clients in State and Local Government, Healthcare, Education, or the Manufacturing/Defense Industrial Base is a plus.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills, with the judgment to know what and when to escalate.
- A collaborative team player with a customer-success mindset and a high level of integrity, professionalism, and commitment to client satisfaction.
- Willingness to travel as needed to customer sites and industry events.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, or a related field, or comparable work experience.
