Smart Working Solutions·1 day ago
As a Business Development Representative, you will be a key part of the sales team, responsible for generating a strong pipeline through focused outbound prospecting. Working closely with UK-based Account Executives, you will research and engage potential customers, qualify opportunities, and ensure promising leads are smoothly passed across for further development.
This is a fast-paced, high-activity role centred around personalised outreach, pipeline creation, and accurate CRM management. You will work alongside the wider sales team to develop account strategies and messaging, test and improve outbound approaches, and contribute to business growth through consistent execution and strong commercial judgement.
Responsibilities
- Lead LinkedIn outbound campaigns through targeted and personalised engagement with CTOs, Heads of Engineering and other senior decision-makers.
- Generate a strong, qualified pipeline by identifying ICP-aligned accounts, engaging key prospects and securing qualified meetings for the UK Account Executive team.
- Work closely with UK Account Executives to align on account strategy and messaging, while ensuring a smooth and effective handover of qualified opportunities.
- Handle initial prospect qualification using MEDDPICC principles, uncovering genuine business needs and challenges before passing opportunities to the Account Executive team.
- Consistently deliver against activity and performance targets through structured daily outreach, strong engagement rates and qualified meeting generation.
- Keep HubSpot records accurate and current while managing outbound sequences across platforms such as HeyReach, Smartlead and Clay/Apollo.
- Regularly experiment with and refine outbound messaging and sequences to increase response rates and improve conversion outcomes.
Requirements
- Staffing industry experience is essential, ideally within staff augmentation, tech talent-as-a-service, IT staffing or technology recruitment.
- Proven experience working with UK and/or US clients is essential, with a strong understanding of their buying processes, expectations and commercial environment.
- Strong outbound sales or business development experience, with the ability to build long-term, retained client relationships rather than focus on one-off placements.
- Proven experience prospecting and engaging CTOs, Heads of Engineering and other senior technical decision-makers.
- Experienced in LinkedIn-led outbound prospecting, ideally within technology staffing, recruitment or B2B technology.
- Strong understanding of the staffing/talent market, including common buyer needs, objections and decision-making processes.
- Excellent written English with a natural, personalised approach to outbound communication rather than a high-volume “spray and pray” style.
- Highly organised and able to manage a high volume of prospecting activity while maintaining quality and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated, resilient and target-driven, with the ability to work UK hours and collaborate effectively with a UK-based team.
Benefits
- Familiar with MEDDPICC qualification principles.
- Uncapped commission and a clear path to promotions.
- Fully remote within India, working closely with a London-based team.
- Generous holiday leave
- The chance to build your sales career inside a scaling business with global ambition.
