About the Role
Smart Working is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for our client, a UK-based hospitality technology organisation. This is a long-term role for one hire, suited to an experienced engineer with strong hands-on capability across TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
The role requires 5+ years of experience in each of TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using TypeScript, Node.js, and Next.js.
- Build robust frontend and backend features, ensuring high performance, reliability, and maintainability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver high-quality software solutions.
- Write clean, reusable, and well-tested code while following engineering best practices and coding standards.
- Participate in technical design discussions and contribute to the implementation of scalable application architectures.
- Review code, provide constructive feedback, and promote high standards of code quality across the team.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve technical issues to ensure application stability and optimal performance.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of development processes, code quality, and engineering practices.
- Work closely with other engineers to deliver software features within agreed timelines and project objectives.
- Stay up to date with modern web development practices and contribute to the ongoing evolution of the technology stack.
Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with TypeScript.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Node.js.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Next.js.
