This is an outstanding opportunity for a contracts professional who enjoys improving processes, working with technology, and helping build the operational infrastructure of a growing legal department. The Contracts & Legal Operations Manager will combine hands-on commercial contracting with legal operations responsibilities, including supporting the company's contract lifecycle management system, helping improve contracting processes, and assisting with the evaluation and adoption of AI-enabled legal tools. This role offers meaningful exposure across the business and the opportunity to grow alongside a collaborative legal team. The position is open to remote candidates within the United States.
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements, including NDAs, consulting agreements, marketing agreements, procurement contracts, and other routine commercial agreements, with opportunities to expand into more sophisticated transactions over time.
- Support the administration and continuous improvement of the company's Ironclad contract lifecycle management system, including workflow updates, template management, and user support.
- Help develop and maintain contract templates, playbooks, workflows, and process documentation to improve efficiency and consistency.
- Maintain contract records and serve as a resource for contract-related documentation and processes.
- Assist in evaluating and implementing AI-enabled legal tools and other technologies that improve the efficiency of the legal department.
- Partner with attorneys and business stakeholders across multiple functions to support contracting and legal operations initiatives.
- Help train internal business teams on contracting processes and best practices.
Qualifications
- Approximately 5–8 years of experience in contracts management, contract administration, legal operations, or a similar role with meaningful experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience working with Ironclad or another contract lifecycle management platform. Experience supporting implementation or administration is preferred.
- Experience improving contract processes, templates, or workflows within an in-house legal department or similar environment.
- Interest in legal technology and curiosity about AI-enabled legal tools. Prior experience using AI tools is helpful but not required.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Self-motivated, collaborative, and comfortable working independently while partnering closely with attorneys and business stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
The targeted base compensation range is $190,000 to $210,000, plus bonus and meaningful equity. Individual total compensation will depend on the candidate's directly relevant experience.
