At TORTUS we work with clinicians and hospitals to provide clinically safe and reliable AI. We use a combination of speech-to-text and LLM models to infer information about your visit with a clinician (GP, Paramedic, Surgery), and provide verified documentation and actions. Fundamentally, we are on a mission to eliminate human error in medicine.
We've been doing this for the last 2 years, and 2025 saw our biggest increase in usage to date as we rolled out to a large proportion of UK GP surgeries and to London Ambulance and other notable organisations.
Our Hospitals squad is focused on making TORTUS indispensable for hospital clinicians - building features that integrate seamlessly into their workflows and genuinely improve how they deliver care.
A product-minded engineer who cares deeply about user experience. You'll work closely with hospital clinicians to understand their workflows, identify pain points, and ship features that make their lives better. If you love turning user feedback into elegant solutions - we want to talk to you.
5+ years of Full-stack experience
Strong product instincts - you think about the "why" as much as the "how"
Experience working directly with end users to understand their needs
Frontend excellence (React, TypeScript)
Backend proficiency (Node.js/NestJS or Python/FastAPI)
Experience with healthcare systems or other complex, regulated domains
Experience with healthcare integrations (FHIR, HL7, EHR systems like EMIS, SystmOne, or Epic)
Comfort with ambiguity and iterating based on real-world feedback
In 12-18 months, you've become the engineer hospital clinicians trust to solve their problems. You've shipped features that measurably improve their daily workflows - reducing documentation time, catching errors before they happen, making information easier to find. You've built relationships with users that inform our product direction. Our hospital NPS has grown significantly, and clinicians actively ask for more of what you've built.
This is a product-focused role with high user impact. Excel here and you could grow into product engineering leadership, or specialise deeper into healthcare UX and clinical workflow optimisation. You'll work directly with clinicians and shape product direction based on real needs. We're building something that genuinely matters - your impact will be on technology that helps clinicians care for millions of patients.
