Escrow administration manages all aspects of homeowner escrow obligations, which include Tax, PMI, Property Insurance, and accurate Escrow Analysis. We are passionate and critical thinkers who navigate multiple facets of the escrow sector of a fast-growing, technology and operations-focused business line. In addition to ensuring escrow accounts are accurate, we also monitor the work of our outsourced vendors and remain committed to meeting all GSE requirements.
The Mortgage Hazard Insurance Specialist is responsible for monitoring, verifying, and maintaining accurate property insurance coverage on mortgaged properties. This role ensures all hazard insurance policies meet investor and regulatory requirements, helps manage risk to the servicing portfolio, and provides excellent customer service to borrowers, insurance agents, and internal departments.
Monitor insurance coverage on all properties within the mortgage portfolio to ensure compliance with investor guidelines (e.g., Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA).
Review and verify hazard insurance documents for completeness, accuracy, and appropriate coverage amounts.
Track and process insurance renewals, cancellations, and reinstatements.
Disburse hazard insurance premiums from escrow accounts in a timely manner.
Coordinate force-placed insurance when borrower-provided coverage lapses, ensuring compliance with applicable laws.
Respond to borrower inquiries regarding insurance coverage, disbursements, and escrow accounts.
Work closely with insurance companies, agents, and vendors to resolve discrepancies and update records.
Maintain accurate records of insurance policies and track status in the servicing system.
Support the escrow analysis process with up-to-date insurance premium data.
Collaborate with Loss Draft and Claims departments on insurance claim-related issues.
Assist in audits and regulatory reporting as required.
Other duties as assigned
Experience working in a mortgage servicing, property insurance, or escrow-related environment
Familiarity with escrow accounts and lender-placed insurance processes
Knowledge of servicing systems like Black Knight (MSP), or similar platforms
Exposure to investor guidelines from Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or FHA/VA
Experience communicating with insurance carriers or an understanding of insurance declarations and coverages
Career interest in compliance, operations, or mortgage servicing
High school diploma or equivalent required
At least 1 year of work experience in a professional environment (e.g., customer service, administrative support, insurance, banking, or real estate)
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
Proficient with Google Suite
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to prioritize tasks and work in a fast-paced environment
