Why we're hiring for this role: As we continue to grow and evolve, we're extending our HR Team with a proactive and organised HR&Operations Generalist to support our startup's HR functions. This role is ideal for a generalist who thrives in a dynamic environment and is adept at managing diverse responsibilities that contribute to the company's growth and efficiency.
Key challenges you will work on every day:
- Own and continuously improve HR operational processes across the employee lifecycle, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and a smooth employee experience.
- Provide operational support across HR activities, including payroll coordination, benefits administration, and HR systems maintenance for employees in the US and Hungary.
- Lead end-to-end onboarding and offboarding processes across regions, ensuring new hires are set up efficiently and compliantly from day one.
- Maintain precise organization of HR-related documentation and financial records, including invoice tracking, approvals, and coordination with finance and external vendors.
- Serve as a key point of contact for HR policies, processes, and employee inquiries, ensuring consistency and timely resolution.
- Partner closely with Finance to support HR-related financial workflows, including invoice reconciliation, cost tracking, and reporting.
- Prepare and analyze HR and operational data and reports to support planning, audits, and leadership decision-making.
Most of this applies to you:
- Excellent communication skills in English and Hungarian.
- 3+ years of experience in an HR Generalist, HR Operations, or People Operations role, ideally in a startup or fast-growing environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HR operations and employment practices (ideally both in the United States and Hungary), including labor law fundamentals, payroll, benefits, and compliance requirements.
- Hands-on experience coordinating with external payroll providers, benefits vendors, and local advisors across multiple countries.
- Proven exposure to HR compliance activities, including audits, data accuracy checks, documentation standards, and regulatory reporting.
- Experience managing end-to-end onboarding and offboarding for distributed teams, including compliance-driven setup and cross-border coordination.
- Demonstrated ability to manage HR-related financial workflows, including invoice tracking, approvals, reconciliation, and collaboration with Finance.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail, especially when handling contracts, employee records, invoices, and compliance documentation.
- Ability to work independently in an ambiguous, fast-moving startup environment, prioritizing effectively and taking ownership without heavy structure.
- Strong communication skills and confidence acting as a trusted point of contact for employees, managers, and external partners.
