We're seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the development and evolution of Assemble, our core AI platform. You'll own the technical roadmap and execution for the platform, ensuring we build scalable, robust infrastructure that powers AI solutions for Fortune 500 clients.
This role focuses on managing our internal engineering team and ensuring the continued development and stability of Assemble. You'll work closely with cross-functional stakeholders to prioritize platform capabilities, lead a team of engineers and data scientists, and maintain the technical foundation that powers our enterprise AI solutions.
A.Team is an AI Systems Integrator serving Fortune 500 CPG and Retail brands. We're building Assemble, an agentic AI platform that transforms how enterprise teams work, from marketing intelligence to supply chain optimization.
We're at an inflection point, scaling our platform to support growing enterprise demand. This role is critical to ensuring Assemble evolves to meet client needs while maintaining the stability and quality our enterprise customers expect.
Drive the technical roadmap for Assemble, balancing new capabilities with platform stability
Lead development of core platform components including data pipelines, knowledge management, agent orchestration, and enterprise integrations
Make architecture decisions with input from data scientists, machine learning experts, and other subject matter experts, balancing immediate delivery needs with long-term scalability
Ensure platform reliability, security, and performance at enterprise scale
Manage a team of engineers and data scientists building Assemble
Conduct 1:1s, performance reviews, and career development conversations
Make hiring decisions and participate in technical interviews
Build a high-trust, high-performance engineering culture
Mentor and grow team members technically and professionally
Establish and enforce engineering standards, development practices, and code quality
Lead technical design reviews and architecture discussions
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines, testing frameworks, and developer tooling
Partner with Product to prioritize platform capabilities based on client and business needs
Collaborate with AI Architects on system design and technical direction
Work with delivery teams to understand their platform requirements and pain points
Coordinate with Security/Infrastructure on enterprise deployment requirements
Communicate platform status, roadmap, and tradeoffs to leadership
8+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years in engineering management
Strong technical background in Python and Typescript, cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), and modern software architecture
Experience building and maintaining production platforms or infrastructure systems
Familiarity with AI/ML systems, LLMs, data pipelines, or similar technologies
Track record of shipping high-quality software while maintaining system stability
Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience balancing competing priorities and making tradeoffs
Comfort working in fast-paced, evolving environments; Start-up Experience a plus!
Experience building AI/ML platforms or agentic systems
Background with enterprise deployments (security, compliance, SSO, RBAC)
Experience with Azure (our primary cloud for enterprise clients)
Previous experience at a startup or high-growth company
Domain experience in CPG, Retail, or Marketing Technology
Assemble platform capabilities grow to meet client and delivery team needs
Successful deployment of Assemble features across multiple clients
Platform maintains high reliability and performance as we scale
Engineering team is productive, engaged, and growing
Technical debt is managed without blocking delivery
Cross-functional partners trust engineering to deliver on commitments
