Purpose Statement
The Finance Operational Excellence (FOE) Manager will develop and manage excellent operations with effective compliance controls and risk management for Finance & Strategy (F&S) in the affiliate. The position reports to General Affairs Group Manager under F&S and assists Controller and manages 1 regular employee and 2-3 outsourcing staff.
The position will;
Lead financial and operational data analysis to establish new cross-functional business support models in F&S.
Major Responsibilities:
・EBE operation and governance
[Operation]
✔ Manage the EBE processes with Concur Travel and Expense (CTE) based on the relevant finance policy and the global SOP
✔ Train employees and handle inquiries with the outsourcing staff
✔ Work with relevant global teams and Controller to resolve any technical and policy-related issues.
[Governance]
✔ Keep refining data processing methods including leverage of other relevant expense data resources than CTE such as travel data to detect fraud and abuse more effectively
✔ Monitor EBE records to ensure appropriate spending.
✔ Report to the senior management findings though the monitoring process and propose remediation actions individually and comprehensively
・JPMA transparency reporting
✔Ensure AbbVie Japan’s disclosure based on JMPA's transparency guidelines and Clinical Research Law
✔Manage and update a process to accurately collect and aggregate data required for disclosure
✔Coordinate responses to inquiries for Conflict of Interest (COI) with COI team
・Risk management
✔Work with Global Risk Management to maintain necessary insurances
✔Support Facility and Global Security to develop and maintain Crisis Management & Business Continuity Program
・Audit support
✔Assist and collaborate with Controller and other relevant managers to respond to an internal audit periodically
・Cross-functional process design and implementation
✔Analyze relevant financial and operational data to support General Affairs Group Manager and Finance Director to meet any new cross-functional business requirements to be managed by F&S
✔Lead or participate in development of the new cross-functional process and implement as planned
Basic:
・Over 10 years of experience in a business and finance environment
・Robust accounting knowledge
・Superior data analytical skills
・Balance between commercials and controls
・Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
・Ability to have sensitive and tough conversations with stakeholders in a productive way
・Intermediate or upper English language capability
Preferred:
・Over 5 years of working experience in the pharmaceutical industry
・Adequate experience and interest in internal financial controls
・Over 5 years of people management
