Essential Job Duties
BambooHR is hiring a Director, EMEA Marketing to establish, lead, and scale our marketing presence across the UK and, over time, the broader EMEA region. This is a foundational role for BambooHR’s growth story as this individual will serve as a key leader in the company’s global expansion efforts.
This role is ideal for a true builder – someone with an entrepreneurial mindset who thrives in ambiguity, enjoys creating from first principles, and is energised by the opportunity to shape a market within the context of a well-resourced, high-growth global organisation.
The Director, EMEA Marketing will define BambooHR’s regional marketing strategy, localise and contextualise our story for the UK market, and drive meaningful revenue impact. This role will build on significant existing scale in the UK market, with a large UK customer base, established sales motion, and substantial existing investment in digital marketing. Your mandate is to bring focus, leadership, and strategic coherence to unlock the next phase of growth.
Over time, this role has the opportunity to expand in scope by building a regional team and taking on broader international responsibilities as BambooHR continues to grow globally.
You will:
Regional Marketing Strategy & Leadership
- Own and define the UK marketing strategy aligned to company growth objectives.
- Operate as a key member of the global marketing leadership team, and serve as a core member of the UK go-to-market leadership.
- Establish BambooHR’s local presence by building relationships with key UK and EMEA HR industry associations, communities, and influencer networks—positioning BambooHR as a credible, engaged, and long-term partner in the regional HR ecosystem.
Demand Generation, Field Marketing & GTM Alignment
- Drive a meaningful share of UK revenue through marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline.
- Own top-of-funnel performance, balancing near-term demand capture with mid- and top-of-funnel investment to improve efficiency and long-term growth.
- Build and lead a field marketing strategy—including events, community partnerships, and sales-aligned programs—to support regional GTM efforts and target account engagement.
- Partner closely with UK Sales to establish shared planning, pipeline goals, execution cadence, and feedback loops, ensuring marketing directly supports regional revenue priorities.
Brand, Awareness & Localisation
- Identify, define, and localise the BambooHR narrative for the UK market, addressing local buyer needs, cultural context, and competitive dynamics.
- Increase brand awareness and consideration among target UK audiences.
- Actively address and correct perceptions of BambooHR as a US-centric platform through localised messaging, proof points, and customer stories.
- Establish a core local industry presence through field marketing, industry partnerships and events to complement a significant top-of-funnel digital marketing investments.
Channels, Agencies & Execution
- Identify, onboard, and manage regional agency partners across key disciplines (demand generation, PR, content, media).
- Partner closely with global and international marketing teams to leverage shared capabilities across digital marketing, marketing automation, web, PR, and channel spend.
- Drive growth in organic and direct traffic and leads over time, reducing over-reliance on bottom-of-funnel paid acquisition.
Team & Future Scale
- Operate initially as a hands-on leader, leveraging global teams and agency partners.
- Define the future EMEA marketing org structure and build a case for additional headcount as the business scales.
- Contribute to broader international expansion strategy and help shape BambooHR’s global marketing operating model.
Success Factors
- Pipeline & Revenue Impact: Sustained growth in marketing-sourced and marketing-influenced pipeline and revenue in the UK, with improving conversion from lead to sales-accepted opportunity (SAO).
- Funnel Health & Efficiency: Increased top-of-funnel lead volume and quality, spurred by increased organic/direct web traffic. Improved CAC efficiency through a healthier balance of demand capture and demand creation.
- Brand Strength & Presence: Measurable increases in UK brand awareness, consideration, and share of voice within the HR market, supported by stronger local visibility and relevance.
- Channel Mix Improvement: Growth in organic and direct traffic and lead contribution, reducing over-reliance on paid search and strengthening long-term demand durability.
What You Need to Get the Job Done:
Experience & Background

- Proven experience leading regional or market-level marketing with direct revenue accountability.
- Deep experience marketing C-level executives, with specific HCM / HRIS experience preferred.
- Strong background in demand generation, performance marketing, and revenue-aligned marketing.
- Experience localising global brands for regional markets.
Skills & Capabilities
- Builder mentality with demonstrated success creating strategy, programs, and operating models from the ground up.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with comfort operating in ambiguity and making tradeoffs.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking, with the ability to balance data-driven execution and narrative-driven brand building.
- Experience managing agencies and external partners with clear accountability and outcomes.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Experience leading localized marketing strategy within a global organization, and a comfort level leading with certain levels of ambiguity.
- Track record of deep partnership with Sales in a high-growth go-to-market environment.
- Strong communication and storytelling skills, both internally and externally.
Culture & Mindset Fit
This role is for someone who wants to build, not just manage. You are energised by firsts, comfortable being the earliest hire in a region, and motivated by the opportunity to define how a global brand shows up locally. You value ownership, accountability, and partnership—and you want the backing of a strong culture, clear leadership, and meaningful resources to turn ambition into impact.
As BambooHR’s first non-US marketing hire, you will act as a culture carrier for our values while also advocating for local nuance and perspective.
