In this role, you will operate at Staff AI Systems Engineer level, setting technical direction across multiple teams, influencing architecture and standards beyond your immediate scope, and acting as a multiplier for engineering excellence across the organization.
We are looking for an accomplished Systems Engineer with strong leadership skills to evolve our AI focused systems engineering and testing framework and processes to guide the design, implementation and testing of our ADAS and AD system development and deployment. Your goal will be to integrate your approach into our modern software development environment enabling the realization of self-driving vehicles. You will be the technical lead for our cross-functional team working on every step of the system development and deployment process in order to enable our R&D teams.
- Grow and develop a strong cross-functional AI systems team enabling a state-of-the-art development environment for robotics applications
- Support the development and implementation of a Bosch wide system design and deployment framework by shaping the overall vision together with the management team as well as driving the technical implementation
- Constantly improve efficiency and effectiveness of our system development process by applying automation as well as full and central transparency to all development steps
- Continuously drive innovation by developing as well as applying cutting-edge software development tooling and processes to our development eco-system together with your team
- Lead by example and foster modern continuous testing standards on all levels by providing best practices in process, tooling and automation to our software developers globally across all domains
- Guide your team on a daily basis by applying best practices around technical design documentation, PRs and hands-on testing
Basic Qualifications:
- Master degree in CS, CE, E/E or comparable
- 3-5 years of experience in Systems Engineering for Automated Driving and/or Robotics as well as comparable fields providing you with a track record of successful implementing and releasing complex software and hardware products by having deep knowledge and expertise in
- Fully traceable and automated management of ODD taxonomies, system ontologies, and requirement traceability from data to behavior to KPIs
- Automated modern CI/CD processes including testing in SiL, HiL and ViL environments
- Using Cloud native services in Azure, AWS, GDC like Airflow, ArgoFlow and Databricks
- The inner workings of a modern ML data flywheel including data collection, labeling strategies, dataset curation, training, validation, and rollout.
- Releasing safety-critical systems to the market via KPI frameworks focusing on SOTIF
- Overall architecture and deployment characteristics of modern transformer-based AI systems, including performance, scaling, and integration constraints in real-world systems.
- The full AI model lifecycle with hands-on experience in model training, fine-tuning, optimization, deployment and inference
- Methodologies to guide full-stack software and hardware teams to successful product releases
- Deploying and releasing safety‑critical or mission‑critical systems under ISO 26262 and SOTIF using modern KPI frameworks
- Hands-on experience in agile methodologies
- Active stakeholder management to align roadmaps, budgets as well as requirements
Prefferred Qualifications:
- Strong understanding of robotics and/or self‑driving vehicle system stacks including sensors, compute and on-board software architectures
- Embedded Linux, QNX, Robot Operating System (ROS) and RTOS experience in general
- Deep knowledge of PyTorch Lightning, PyTorch, ONNX, and TensorRT, including large-scale foundation model training, multimodal/VLM architectures
- Experience with distributed systems architecture and deployment, including scalable cloud/GPU infrastructure, distributed inference pipelines, orchestration frameworks, and real-world deployment constraints

The U.S. base salary range for this intern position is $34.00-$68.00 per hour. Within the range, individual pay is determined based on several factors, including, but not limited to, type of degree, work experience and job knowledge, complexity of the role, type of position, job location, etc. Your Hiring Manager can share more details about the specific salary range for this position during the interview process.*
