Summary
The Director of Growth Finance partners with GeneDx’s core testing growth leaders. This role owns the financial and analytical view of our highest-revenue business lines, translating volume, pricing, reimbursement, and cost drivers into clear performance narratives and investment decisions. The role exists to ensure leadership has an objective, finance-certified understanding of where the testing business is performing well, where it is at risk, and where incremental investment will drive the greatest return.
This is a growth-facing finance leadership role focused on performance management, decision support, and investment tradeoffs for the company’s largest revenue streams.
Job Responsibilities
- Own the decision-support financial view of the testing business, translating finance-certified demand (from Demand & Volume Planning), reimbursement performance, and cost inputs into a decision-ready view of revenue, margin, and returns.
- Own the finance partnership with testing Growth Leads, supporting strategy, performance management, and investment tradeoffs.
- Translate company growth targets and certified demand trajectories into a business performance contract with Commercial leadership: the KPIs, milestones, and commitments the business will be run against.
- Lead the testing business’s response to performance variance, converting volume and reimbursement diagnostics into economic implications, risks, and actions for Growth Leads.
- Build and maintain decision-support P&L and ROI frameworks for major testing business lines, reflecting key economic drivers without replicating accounting systems.
- Develop business cases for commercial and product investments (sales capacity, marketing, pricing, pilots, launches), quantifying expected returns, risks, and tradeoffs.
- Drive forward-looking scenario analysis and capital allocation recommendations to evaluate growth opportunities, downside risks, and capital allocation choices for the Testing portfolio.
- Produce clear, board-grade narratives and materials for executive and board forums on testing performance, outlook, and investment decisions.
- Represent Finance’s independent point of view on growth, risk, and returns for the testing business in cross-functional and executive decision processes.
- Manage dedicated analytics and BI resources, setting priorities and ensuring delivery and BI support for the testing business, ensuring scarce resources are focused on the highest-impact questions and metrics.

With hundreds of genetic counselors, MD/PhD scientists, and clinical and molecular genomics specialists on staff, we are the industry’s genetic testing experts and proud of it. We share the same goal as healthcare providers, patients, and families: to provide clear, accurate, and meaningful answers we all can trust.
SEQUENCING HAS THE POWER TO SOLVE DIAGNOSTIC CHALLENGES.
From sequencing to reporting and beyond, our technical and clinical experts are providing guidance every step of the way:
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
- High-quality testing: Our laboratory is CLIA certified and CAP accredited and most of our tests are also New York State approved.
- Advanced detection: By interrogating genes for complex variants, we can identify the underlying causes of conditions that may otherwise be missed.
CLINICAL EXPERTISE
- Thorough analysis: We classify variants according to our custom adaptation of the most recent guidelines. We then leverage our rich internal database for additional interpretation evidence.
- Customized care: Our experts review all test results and write reports in a clear, concise, and personalized way. We also include information for research studies in specific clinical situations.
- Impactful discovery: Our researchers continue working to find answers even after testing is complete. Through both internal research efforts and global collaborations, we have identified and published hundreds of new disease-gene relationships and developed novel tools for genomic data analysis. These efforts ultimately deliver more diagnostic findings to individuals.
