As a Junior Accountant, your role will evolve over time. Initially, you will focus on junior accounting duties, and as you grow, you will take on more advanced responsibilities.
Key responsibilities
- Monitor and manage the accounting email inbox for clients.
- Enter financial data, maintain records, and ensure accuracy in expense reports and financial statements.
- Process accounts receivable and payable, ensuring timely and accurate transactions.
- Handle payroll for multiple clients, ensuring compliance with regulations and timely payments.
- Maintain subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and recording financial transactions.
- Keep detailed records of customer, vendor, and payroll data, maintaining an organized system for historic accounting records.
- Prepare and reconcile balance sheets, including cash and credit card accounts.
Senior Accountant Transition Training & Growth Areas:
- Conduct and review reconciliations for bank accounts, sub-ledgers, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, accrued liabilities, and notes payable.
- Prepare and analyze financial statements for Accounting Manager review, summarizing account information and trends for clients.
- Ensure compliance with document retention policies and accurate documentation of transactions.
- Perform month-end close activities, including reconciliations and journal entries.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and other regulatory requirements
