This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Area Sales Director, Healthcare based in the United States.
This is a senior sales leadership role responsible for driving growth and consistent performance across healthcare-focused sales teams.
You will lead quota-bearing client and senior client managers while shaping go-to-market strategy across an assigned U.S. geography.
The role combines strategic planning, operational execution, team leadership, and executive-level client engagement.
You will help translate healthcare market priorities, regulatory considerations, and buyer expectations into effective sales strategies.
Success requires strong commercial judgment, the ability to influence across a global matrixed organization, and a proven record of delivering business results.
You will also build strategic relationships with clients, partners, vendors, and internal stakeholders to accelerate complex opportunities.

Accountabilities:
- Lead healthcare sales teams: Manage and develop senior client managers and quota-carrying sales professionals, setting clear objectives and driving consistent performance against revenue and business targets.
- Develop go-to-market strategy: Partner with senior sales leadership and decision-makers to establish market approaches, sales priorities, targets, and operating plans aligned with broader organizational objectives.
- Drive strategy execution: Translate strategic direction into actionable field plans, monitor progress, allocate resources effectively, and ensure consistent execution across the assigned geography.
- Lead healthcare-focused growth: Develop sales strategies tailored to healthcare organizations, considering sector priorities, regulatory requirements, procurement cycles, stakeholder dynamics, and evolving buyer expectations.
- Manage complex sales pursuits: Guide teams through opportunity identification, advancement, negotiation, and closure while coordinating internal experts, pursuit teams, vendors, and external partners.
- Strengthen client relationships: Build and maintain strategic relationships with senior stakeholders and act as an executive-level advisor when engaging directly with key healthcare buyers.
- Optimize sales performance: Establish targets, monitor business and financial results, analyze performance data, and identify actions required to close gaps or accelerate growth.
- Develop partner strategies: Work with technology vendors and OEM partners to develop and execute joint go-to-market strategies and leverage external capabilities throughout the sales cycle.
- Drive operational excellence: Improve sales processes, policies, methodologies, and cross-functional collaboration to make it easier for clients to engage and buy.
- Lead talent and culture initiatives: Foster a collaborative, innovative, accountable, and high-performing sales culture while developing talent and sharing best practices across teams.
- Manage strategic risks and negotiations: Lead or support negotiations involving critical commercial matters and ensure sales decisions balance customer needs, business objectives, risk, and long-term value.
- Coordinate geographically: Ensure a consistent and coordinated go-to-market approach across clients, sales teams, and internal stakeholders within the assigned territory.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in business, marketing, or a related discipline.
- Sales leadership: Significant experience in senior sales leadership or management, preferably within a global technology services or solutions organization.
- Healthcare expertise: Proven experience leading senior sellers and quota-bearing teams serving healthcare clients, with a strong understanding of healthcare-sector priorities and buying environments.
- Strategic planning: Demonstrated ability to develop and execute go-to-market strategies, translate business objectives into operational plans, and deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
- Sales performance: Proven track record managing revenue targets, financial results, business outcomes, and complex sales opportunities.
- Technology sales: Extensive experience selling infrastructure and technology solutions such as secure networking, collaboration, contact center, hybrid data center, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Partner ecosystem: Experience working with major technology OEMs and partners, such as Cisco, Palo Alto Networks, HPE, Dell, or comparable organizations.
- Global environment: Experience operating effectively within a global, matrixed organization and coordinating across multiple functions and geographies.
- Executive communication: Strong presentation, negotiation, communication, and stakeholder-management skills, including the ability to influence senior decision-makers.
- Client engagement: Strong business acumen and the ability to understand clients’ commercial and financial priorities and position technology solutions around measurable business outcomes.
- Sales operations: Expertise in sales strategy execution, business management, resource optimization, pursuit management, and talent enablement.
- Negotiation: Significant experience negotiating high-value or strategically critical commercial matters.
- Travel and location: Must reside in the United States and be able to travel up to 50% based on business requirements.
- Additional experience: The role calls for significant experience in strategic planning, operational execution, media-related work, and complex technology sales environments.
