Accountabilities:

The Associate, Procurement Innovation will support the design, execution, and delivery of procurement transformation projects with government partners. This role requires strong project management capabilities, analytical skills, and the ability to build trusted relationships while helping organizations implement meaningful operational change.

• Support project planning, problem diagnosis, and implementation activities through research, data analysis, interviews, surveys, process mapping, and policy reviews.
• Collaborate with government leaders to design ambitious, practical projects informed by data, strategic goals, and measurable outcomes.
• Develop project materials including diagnostic reports, implementation roadmaps, workplans, progress updates, and training resources.
• Manage day-to-day project execution, including stakeholder meetings, workshops, implementation tracking, and change management activities.
• Provide coaching and advisory support to government partners by helping identify challenges, develop solutions, and improve procurement practices.
• Facilitate internal and external project discussions to maintain alignment, address risks, and sustain momentum.
• Support the development of scalable procurement innovation approaches that can be shared across multiple jurisdictions.
• Contribute to funder reporting activities and support broader organizational growth initiatives.
• Build relationships with government leaders, nonprofit organizations, technology providers, entrepreneurs, and other stakeholders.
• Develop public-facing resources, templates, and publications that highlight successful approaches and best practices.
• Represent the organization at conferences and events by sharing insights from project work.
• Contribute ideas to improve internal operations, services, and overall organizational impact.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate is a proactive and adaptable professional with experience supporting government operations, consulting, policy implementation, or innovation-focused initiatives. This role requires strong analytical abilities, project execution skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders.

• Bachelor’s degree required; equivalent professional experience or relevant certifications may be considered.
• Three or more years of experience in areas such as government operations, public policy implementation, consulting, organizational transformation, or innovation initiatives.
• Experience with project design, implementation, stakeholder engagement, coaching, facilitation, or change management within complex organizations.
• Understanding of public procurement processes, government operations, or regulatory environments at the state or local level preferred.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex challenges and develop practical solutions.
• Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to make complex topics accessible.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
• Ability to build trust, influence stakeholders, and support organizational change.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment with evolving priorities.
• Strong teamwork skills with the ability to provide and receive constructive feedback.
• Mission-driven mindset and interest in strengthening public sector operations.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed, up to approximately 8 times per year.
