This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Associate Staff Engineer, SAP B4NL based in India.
This role is an opportunity for an experienced SAP professional to shape end-to-end logistics and transportation solutions in complex enterprise environments. You will bring deep expertise in SAP Transportation Management and SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4L) to support transformation initiatives. The position combines functional consulting, solution design, implementation, integration, testing, and production support. You will work closely with stakeholders to translate business requirements into scalable and effective SAP solutions. Your expertise will be particularly important across Freight Collaboration, Dispute Management, and Global Track and Trace capabilities. You will also contribute to technical decision-making, troubleshooting, proof-of-concepts, and continuous improvement. This is a collaborative environment where you can influence solution quality while supporting teams and delivering measurable business value.
Accountabilities:
- Analyze functional and business requirements thoroughly and translate client needs into effective SAP TM and BN4L solutions.
- Design and deliver end-to-end logistics and transportation solutions, including carrier collaboration through SAP Business Network for Logistics.
- Lead or support SAP S/4HANA implementations involving Transportation Management and BN4L.
- Design, configure, and deploy BN4L capabilities, including Freight Collaboration, Dispute Management, and Global Track and Trace.
- Configure carrier onboarding, freight collaboration processes, and transportation tendering workflows.
- Ensure seamless integration between SAP TM, BN4L, and external logistics and transportation systems.
- Define solution architectures, design methodologies, technologies, patterns, and frameworks aligned with functional and non-functional requirements.
- Prepare functional specifications, including RICEFW requirements, and collaborate with development teams to support solution delivery.
- Coordinate requirements, schedules, development activities, and dependencies to enable successful application delivery.
- Lead or support SIT, UAT, production rollouts, go-live activities, and post-production stabilization.
- Provide L2/L3 support, investigate incidents, troubleshoot complex issues, and deliver enhancements and bug fixes.
- Develop and validate work breakdown structures, effort estimates, and delivery plans for assigned modules and activities.
- Conduct proof-of-concepts to validate proposed technologies and solution approaches before implementation.
- Provide constructive feedback, establish clear expectations, and support knowledge sharing across the team.
- Document solutions, processes, and lessons learned, and facilitate knowledge transfer during project transitions and roll-offs.
- 5+ years of total professional experience in SAP consulting or related enterprise technology roles.
- Strong functional consulting experience with SAP Business Network for Logistics (BN4L).
- Strong hands-on experience with SAP Transportation Management (SAP TM).
- Proven ability to deliver end-to-end logistics and transportation solutions within SAP environments.
- Practical experience with SAP S/4HANA implementations involving TM and BN4L.
- Hands-on experience with BN4L Freight Collaboration, Dispute Management, and Global Track and Trace.
- Experience configuring carrier onboarding, freight collaboration, and transportation tendering processes.
- Experience integrating SAP TM and BN4L with external logistics systems and related enterprise platforms.
- Ability to prepare functional specifications and work effectively with development teams on RICEFW requirements.
- Experience with SIT/UAT, production deployments, go-live support, L2/L3 support, incident resolution, and application enhancements.
- Strong solution-design skills, with the ability to evaluate technologies, frameworks, patterns, and methodologies against business requirements.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting abilities, including experience resolving complex functional and design issues.
- Ability to conduct POCs and clearly explain and justify architectural or design decisions.
- Strong communication, stakeholder-management, collaboration, and team leadership skills.
- A proactive mindset with the ability to respond constructively to challenges and continuously improve solutions and delivery processes.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
