This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Business Development Manager, Special Education based in the United States.
This is a remote, full-time business development opportunity focused on expanding services supporting K–12 special education programs nationwide.
You’ll drive new business growth by identifying prospects, developing strategic relationships, and converting opportunities into new accounts and revenue.
The role combines consultative sales, market intelligence, networking, and relationship management within a specialized healthcare and education environment.
You’ll build relationships with school and organizational decision-makers while developing a deep understanding of market needs, competitive activity, and service requirements.
Success will depend on your ability to proactively manage a pipeline, uncover client challenges, and collaborate internally to deliver compelling solutions.
You’ll have meaningful ownership of an assigned market and the opportunity to directly contribute to better staffing and support for students with diverse learning needs.

Accountabilities:
- Drive new business growth: Identify, prospect, and develop new and previous client relationships to generate new job orders, accounts, and revenue within the assigned strategic business unit.
- Lead proactive outreach: Conduct business development activities through phone, email, social media, networking, and other relevant channels to build a strong prospect pipeline.
- Manage client relationships: Establish and maintain relationships with prospective and existing clients, including key decision-makers and stakeholders across the assigned geographic territory.
- Develop market intelligence: Research market trends, competitive activity, pricing, job requirements, credentialing expectations, and other factors to identify opportunities and inform business development strategies.
- Understand client needs: Conduct consultative conversations to uncover client challenges and work with internal teams to develop solutions aligned with client and organizational objectives.
- Negotiate business arrangements: Support negotiations involving pricing, terms, contracts, and other commercial arrangements as appropriate.
- Build strategic networks: Develop and maintain a strong network of contacts within the special education, healthcare, staffing, and related markets.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Partner closely with recruiting, client services, and other internal teams to ensure effective communication, strong client support, and successful execution.
- Maintain pipeline discipline: Keep prospect, client, contact, and activity information accurate while consistently managing opportunities through the business development lifecycle.
- Track performance: Meet established business development KPIs and proactively manage activities toward measurable growth outcomes.
- Shape growth strategy: Develop and implement business development plans aligned with strategic business unit and organizational objectives, while sharing relevant market insights with leadership.
Requirements:
- Relevant experience: At least 2 years of sales and/or healthcare experience, with strong sales or business development experience highly preferred.
- Healthcare knowledge: Experience in healthcare sales, healthcare recruitment, staffing, or another relevant healthcare environment is strongly preferred.
- Business development expertise: Demonstrated experience with prospecting, lead generation, pipeline development, and winning new business.
- Relationship management: Proven ability to build, develop, and maintain productive relationships with prospective and existing clients.
- Multi-channel outreach: Comfortable using phone, email, social media, networking, and other channels to generate and develop business opportunities.
- Market research: Able to research markets, identify commercial opportunities, understand competitive dynamics, and translate market intelligence into actionable insights.
- Consultative selling: Strong ability to understand client requirements and collaborate on solutions that address both customer needs and organizational goals.
- Communication and negotiation: Excellent communication, networking, relationship-building, and negotiation skills, with confidence engaging senior stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Independent execution: Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to identify opportunities, manage priorities, and work effectively with limited supervision.
- Results orientation: Comfortable working in a KPI-driven, performance-focused environment with measurable business development objectives.
- Organization: Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple prospects, relationships, opportunities, and activities simultaneously.
- Team collaboration: Effective collaborator who can work closely with recruiting, client services, and other internal stakeholders.
- Preferred experience: Staffing industry experience is a plus, while experience working with schools or within education is advantageous but not required.
