This role is a senior accounting position responsible for ensuring financial integrity, accuracy, and compliance across multi-entity and multi-currency operations. The Chief Accountant will oversee core accounting functions including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliations, while managing timely financial close and reporting processes. This position supports leadership with actionable insights on revenue recognition, contracts, projects, and operational performance. You will play a key role in process improvement, internal controls, and audit readiness, while mentoring accounting team members and collaborating with cross-functional teams. The role offers exposure to healthcare and technology environments, working on complex accounting challenges with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
Accountabilities:
- Oversee daily accounting operations including general ledger, accounts payable and receivable, payroll coordination, and bank reconciliations.
- Manage accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Maintain chart of accounts and ensure accounting policies comply with U.S. GAAP.
- Prepare and review financial statements and management reports; ensure compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and healthcare regulations.
- Support audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and efficiency initiatives.
- Provide financial insights on revenue recognition, contracts, projects, and operational performance to executive leadership.
- Mentor and support accounting team members as needed.
- Assist with multi-currency transactions, international entities, and intercompany accounting.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, ideally in healthcare, SaaS, or technology-driven environments.
- Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SaaS revenue recognition principles.
- Experience with multi-entity and multi-currency accounting.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and accounting software.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
