Accountabilities:
The Cloud Security Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining security controls across Oracle Cloud environments while supporting secure, reliable, and compliant operations. The role requires technical leadership, strong problem-solving abilities, and collaboration with cross-functional teams to improve security posture and reduce organizational risk.
- Design and implement enterprise security architectures for Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), including security zones, landing zones, compartment strategies, and access controls.
- Configure and manage OCI Identity Domains, identity federation, role-based access control (RBAC), and secure authentication strategies.
- Implement encryption, key management, and secrets management solutions using OCI Vault and related security services.
- Harden cloud workloads, databases, and networking environments according to security standards, CIS benchmarks, and internal policies.
- Monitor and respond to security threats using tools such as OCI Cloud Guard, OCI Logging, OCI Audit, and SIEM integrations.
- Implement data protection controls, including sensitive data discovery, masking, and privileged user monitoring.
- Lead vulnerability management activities, including scanning, patching, remediation tracking, and risk reduction initiatives.
- Support compliance efforts aligned with frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, and FedRAMP.
- Conduct threat modeling, security architecture reviews, and incident response activities for cloud workloads.
- Develop automation solutions using Python, Terraform, and OCI CLI/SDK to improve security operations.
- Maintain technical documentation, security procedures, architecture diagrams, and operational guidelines.
- Provide security guidance, mentorship, and best practices to application and infrastructure teams.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate has extensive experience in cloud security engineering with hands-on expertise in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure and enterprise security practices. Strong technical knowledge, communication skills, and the ability to collaborate across teams are essential for success in this role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 5+ years of cloud security experience with significant hands-on experience in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
- Strong knowledge of OCI Identity, IAM policies, identity federation, and access management strategies.
- Experience with OCI security services including Cloud Guard, Security Zones, Vault, and Data Safe.
- Solid understanding of cloud security frameworks, CIS benchmarks, and secure architecture principles.
- Experience with vulnerability management, security monitoring, and remediation processes.
- Familiarity with regulatory and compliance frameworks such as PCI-DSS, HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001, or FedRAMP.
- Strong scripting skills using Python and/or Bash, along with Terraform experience.
- Experience integrating cloud environments with SIEM platforms.
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and analytical skills.
- Preferred certifications include Oracle Cloud Security Professional, CISSP, CCSP, or equivalent security certifications.
- Experience with multi-cloud security, SOAR platforms, automated incident response, and zero-trust architectures is a plus.
