This role is ideal for an experienced legal professional who will serve as a key member of the commercial contracts team, driving the negotiation, drafting, and execution of vendor and customer agreements. You will work closely with internal stakeholders to provide practical, business-focused legal guidance while helping the organization scale responsibly. The role offers exposure to complex commercial matters, including technology transactions, partnerships, and data security agreements, in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment. You will contribute to process improvements, support cross-functional initiatives, and help build a best-in-class legal function while ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Accountabilities
- Negotiate, draft, and review vendor, customer, license, partnership, confidentiality, data security, and other commercial agreements
- Support complex and strategic transactions, including technology integrations and partnerships
- Provide legal guidance to internal stakeholders across business functions, addressing contract-related questions and commercial risks
- Collaborate with internal and external experts to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and company policies
- Offer practical, creative, and business-oriented legal advice to support growth while managing risk
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives to streamline contracting and legal workflows
- Assist in building and maintaining scalable legal processes to support company expansion and efficiency
Requirements
- Law degree from an accredited institution and active membership in a state bar in good standing
- 5+ years of experience in-house, at a law firm, or a combination of both, with a focus on commercial contracts
- Proven experience negotiating, drafting, and reviewing complex agreements, including technology and healthcare contracts
- Strong understanding of balancing legal risk with business objectives and a preference for plain-English, business-friendly contracts
- Excellent problem-solving, judgment, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to operate independently in a fast-paced environment
- Preferred experience in technology or healthcare organizations, with knowledge of privacy laws (CCPA, GDPR), ERISA, provider contracts, and technology transactions
- Demonstrated ability to build strong working relationships and collaborate effectively with colleagues and stakeholders
