This role leads the core product design experience for a large-scale, consumer-facing digital platform used by millions of users. You will set the strategic direction for product design while managing and developing high-performing design leaders and teams. Working closely with Product and Engineering counterparts, you will shape intuitive, data-informed user experiences across native mobile platforms. This position combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership, guiding teams through ambiguity and driving design excellence at scale. You will champion user-centered design as a key driver of business impact, customer trust, and long-term product growth.
Accountabilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and design direction for multiple product design teams, ensuring high-quality, consistent user experiences across the core product.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering leadership to align design strategy with business objectives and customer needs.
- Lead, mentor, and develop senior design leaders and individual contributors, including hiring and performance development.
- Translate ambiguity into clarity by establishing effective design processes, frameworks, and operating rhythms.
- Drive innovation and experimentation while balancing incremental improvements with larger experience transformations.
- Present design vision, concepts, and outcomes to executive stakeholders, facilitating alignment and informed decision-making.
- Advocate for user-centered, data-informed design practices across the organization.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in Product Design, including at least 5+ years in people leadership roles managing and developing design teams.
- Proven experience leading consumer-facing product design teams with a strong focus on native iOS and Android applications.
- Demonstrated success scaling high-velocity design organizations and delivering measurable impact on both customer experience and business outcomes.
- Strong ability to define design vision and processes that balance rapid iteration with long-term experience evolution.
- Analytical, data-informed approach to design, incorporating qualitative and quantitative insights into decision-making.
- Excellent written, verbal, and visual communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- A strong bias toward action, experimentation, and continuous improvement in fast-moving product environments.
- An online portfolio showcasing relevant product design work is required.
