We are growing the Workforce Management (WFM) team at Plata, building systems used daily by agents and operations managers to plan and organize operational work and play an important role in service quality and team efficiency.
As an Engineering Manager, you will lead a cross-functional team and own day-to-day delivery — planning, prioritization, and close collaboration with Product and Operations. You’ll help the team move fast in the early stages, turning ideas into working solutions through short feedback loops and rapid iteration.
We’re looking for a hands-on Engineering Manager with a strong technical background and clear communication skills — someone who stays close to the team, sets a modern engineering pace, and helps translate product ideas into reliable solutions as the system grows. If you enjoy working close to the team and growing systems together with the business, this role could be a good fit.
Challenges that await you:
- Leading the team in hiring, planning, task decomposition, process improvements, and cross-team collaboration
- Establishing and scaling team practices around AI-assisted development to improve speed and learning cycles
- Overseeing team performance, ensuring on-time project delivery aligned with business goals
- Lead the development and optimization of the workspace for collection/telesales agents
- Solving complex challenges and ensuring high-quality solutions
- Shaping the architecture, design, and implementation of backend services in Golang
What makes you a great fit:
- 1+ years of experience leading engineering teams (hiring, development, performance, and delivery management)
- A strong technical background and development experience, enabling you to participate in architectural discussions and validate the team's technical solutions
- Hands-on experience or strong interest in using AI tools (e.g. coding assistants, AI-based debugging, prototyping) as part of daily engineering work
- Cross-team communication skills and the ability to build partnerships
- Experience in building and optimizing development processes (planning, decomposition, retrospectives)
- Diplomacy and the ability to advocate for your position and the team's interests with well-reasoned arguments
- Willingness to learn, adapt, and collaborate effectively
Our ways of working:
- Innovative Spirit: A commitment to creativity and groundbreaking solutions
- Honest Feedback: valuing open, transparent communication
- Supportive Team: a strong, collaborative community
- Celebrating Achievements: recognizing our wins together
- High-Tech Environment: a team full of smart and revolutionary people who date to challenge the status quo of incumbent finances
Our benefits:
- Relocation support to one of our hubs — Cyprus, Serbia — with assistance for the employee and their family
- Flexible work from one of our offices or remote
- Healthcare Coverage
- Education Budget: Language lessons, professional training and certifications
- Wellness Budget: Mental health and fitness activity reimbursements
- Vacation policy: 20 days of annual leave and paid sick leave
