Who You Are:
We're looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Litigation Paralegal. Reporting to our Deputy General Counsel, in this role, you'll help manage a dynamic litigation docket and collaborate closely with in-house counsel, outside counsel, insurance carriers, and internal partners across Zum. You'll play a key role in keeping matters moving forward efficiently and helping us continuously improve how we manage litigation as Zum continues to scale.
This role is based at the Company’s headquarters in Redwood Shores, CA and requires you to be onsite 3x/week (Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday). We will only consider candidates already based in the Bay Area.
What You'll Do:
Litigation Management
• Own and manage a docket of personal injury, employment, and other litigation matters
• Collaborate closely with outside counsel, in-house attorneys, claims professionals, and safety teams to move cases forward
• Assist with the litigation hold process and the document collection process for litigation, subpoenas, and regulatory matters
• Maintain and update case records, timelines, and other critical data
Policies and Procedures
• Assist in drafting, reviewing, and improving contracts, policies, and procedures
Process Implementation and Optimization
• Standardize the end-to-end matter management lifecycle to ensure consistent data capture and seamless transitions from initial intake through to final resolution
• Support legal team in organizing and maintaining eDiscovery workflows and document review processes
• Drive process improvements that enhance data accuracy, team efficiency, and our ability to meet financial reporting and audit requirements
• Design, develop, refine, and simplify legal processes to increase efficiency, support scalability, and ensure quality
Knowledge and Records Management
• Collaborate with attorneys and cross-functional partners to identify responsive datasets and coordinate technical collections
Financial Management
• Conduct first-pass review of invoices from external counsel and vendors and assist with managing e-billing
Cross-Functional Project Management
• Contribute to special projects and process innovation initiatives that align with Legal's operational goals
• Proactively identify potential legal risks and provide recommendations for mitigation

The targeted base salary range for this role is listed in the compensation section below. Actual salary may be above or below this range based on factors such as location, skills, and relevant experience. In addition, this position may include additional compensation in the form of bonus, equity, or commissions. The targeted base pay range for this role in US is: $140,000 - $189,000
