About Procurement
Procurement is part of Stripe Finance and owns the full supplier lifecycle and buying journey. The team sources and evaluates new vendors, renews and negotiates contracts with existing suppliers, and leads third‑party risk management and compliance activities to ensure suppliers meet Stripe’s standards. Procurement also drafts, reviews, and approves supplier contract structures and terms, aligned with Stripe’s risk appetite and legal requirements.
About the team
The Tech & Workplace Strategic Sourcing team is a key part of Stripe's Procurement Office. We're responsible for managing sourcing efforts for Stripe's tech, product, and workplace purchasing needs, including Core Tech, Infra, Product, Partnerships, Workplace, and Corporate Security teams. Our team is focused on improving efficiency in the procurement process for our users, getting more value from our supplier relationships, and optimizing costs for Stripe.
What you’ll do
As the Head of Tech & Workplace Sourcing, you'll lead a team that's central to Stripe's procurement efforts. You'll oversee sourcing activities for Tech and Workplace functions while also supporting key strategic initiatives that shape the future of procurement at Stripe. Your role will be crucial in driving cost savings, increasing spend under management, and directing more business to preferred suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Team leadership: manage and grow a team of high-powered strategic sourcing managers; hire, coach, set goals, run performance reviews and career development. Inspire and develop a proactive, user-first culture that values operational excellence and continuous improvement.
- Vision & strategy: define and evangelize a clear sourcing vision for Tech & Workplace categories that advances Procurement’s evolution at Stripe; translate that vision into an annual roadmap and prioritized programs that align to product and engineering roadmaps.
- Category strategy & execution: deliver annual strategies for Core Tech, Infra, Product, Partnerships, Workplace, and Corporate Security categories; ensure procurement is closely integrated with business needs throughout the entire sourcing lifecycle.
- Value development: develop strategies, playbooks and workflows in partnership with the broader procurement team to scale preferred supplier usage, reduce cost per transaction, and improve time‑to‑procure.
- Commercial outcomes & supplier stewardship: lead and support negotiations and supplier selection for high‑impact contracts, drive measurable cost savings and value capture, and promote ethical, sustainable supplier relationships consistent with Stripe’s values and risk appetite.
- Stakeholder partnership & engagement: build trusted partnerships with senior technical, product, and workplace leaders; proactively engage stakeholders across the procurement lifecycle, run QBRs, and translate procurement insights into business decisions.
- Compliance, risk & sustainability: partner with Third Party Risk, Supplier Deal Management, and Legal to ensure compliant contracting, supplier onboarding, and adherence to regulatory and internal requirements; incorporate supplier sustainability and ethical considerations into sourcing decisions where relevant.
- Measurement & insights: establish and monitor team OKRs and KPIs (cost savings, % spend under management, supplier performance, procurement cycle times, stakeholder satisfaction); provide regular insights and recommendations to cross‑functional partners to inform supplier strategy and prioritization.
