Role:
The IT Lead will own and lead the Company’s internal technology, systems, and corporate infrastructure. This is a senior, hands-on leadership role responsible for ensuring that the Company’s internal IT environment is secure, scalable, compliant, and fit for a regulated fintech organization.
This role sits at the intersection of IT operations, security, compliance, and business enablement. The IT Lead will partner closely with Engineering, Security, Compliance, Legal, and Finance to ensure the Company’s internal systems meet institutional standards while supporting rapid growth.
IT Strategy & Leadership
- Own the Company’s internal IT strategy, roadmap, and operating model
- Establish and enforce IT policies, standards, and controls appropriate for a regulated crypto/fintech environment
- Serve as the primary owner of corporate IT risk, access controls, and systems integrity
- Build, manage, and mentor a small but high-impact IT function, including external vendors and MSPs as needed
Corporate Systems & Infrastructure
- Own and operate core corporate systems, including identity and access management (IAM), endpoint management, collaboration tools, and SaaS platforms
- Design and maintain secure device management and MDM standards across a distributed U.S.-based workforce
- Oversee cloud-based IT tooling and integrations used by Engineering, Product, Finance, and Operations
Identity, Access, and Security Controls
- Own provisioning and deprovisioning workflows across all internal systems
- Enforce least-privilege access, role-based access control, and segregation of duties
- Partner with Security to implement endpoint security, logging, monitoring, and incident response procedures
- Ensure secure onboarding and offboarding processes aligned with internal HR and Compliance SOPs
Compliance & Audit Readiness
- Partner with Compliance, Legal, and Security to support SOC 2, ISO 27001, and other regulatory or customer-driven control frameworks
- Maintain IT documentation, asset inventories, access reviews, and evidence required for audits and due diligence
- Support regulatory examinations, customer security reviews, and investor diligence processes
Vendor & Risk Management
- Own vendor selection, onboarding, contract review (in partnership with Legal), and ongoing risk management for IT vendors
- Conduct periodic vendor risk assessments and access reviews
- Ensure appropriate SLAs, data protection obligations, and security controls are in place
Incident & Escalation Management
- Serve as the escalation point for internal IT incidents and outages
- Coordinate response to security or availability incidents affecting corporate systems
- Lead post-incident reviews and implement corrective actions
Preferred Skills & Experience
- 8+ years of experience in IT operations, corporate IT, or technology operations roles
- Prior experience in fintech, financial services, crypto, or other highly regulated technology environments
- Strong understanding of identity and access management, endpoint security, SaaS administration, and cloud-based corporate infrastructure
- Demonstrated experience building IT controls suitable for SOC 2 / ISO 27001–aligned organizations
- Experience supporting a distributed, remote-first workforce
- Strong documentation, process design, and risk management skills
- Excellent judgment, discretion, and ability to operate with executive-level visibility
- Experience in early-stage or high-growth startups
- Familiarity with cloud-native engineering environments (AWS/GCP), Git-based workflows, and modern DevOps practices
- Exposure to regulatory frameworks impacting crypto or financial infrastructure
- Prior ownership of IT components of audits or regulatory reviews
