Build something people love
Wealthsimple is on a mission to help everyone achieve financial freedom by reimagining what it means to manage your money. Using smart technology, we take financial services that are often confusing and expensive and make them transparent and low-cost for everyone. We’re the largest fintech company in Canada, with 3+ million users who trust us with more than $100 billion in assets. And we’re just getting started.
We’re looking for someone who thinks big, sweats the small stuff and keeps things simple. You’ll join a high-bar, fast-paced team where people are trusted to own their work, communicate openly, and ship things that improve our clients’ lives. Collaboration, humility, and an obsession over quality are how we get stuff done.
About the role
As the Contracts Administrator, you will be the operational backbone of our legal and procurement processes. You will support the Legal team by managing the intake, organization, and execution of vendor and supplier agreements. Your goal is to ensure the contracting engine runs smoothly, allowing our product and growth teams to move fast while maintaining compliance.
What you will do:
- Contract Review & Drafting: Draft, review, and redline standard agreements (such as NDAs, Order Forms, and standard SOWs) using established templates and playbooks.
- Workflow Management: Act as the first point of contact for internal business partners initiating new contract requests; ensure all required information is gathered before legal review.
- Signature & Execution: Manage the signature process (e.g., DocuSign), ensuring all internal approvals and financial authorizations are secured prior to execution.
- Database Administration: Own the Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) system. You will upload signed contracts, enter key metadata (renewals, termination dates, payment terms), and ensure data integrity.
- Process Improvement: Assist the Contracts Manager and Legal team in maintaining the library of templates, self-help guides, and legal FAQs to improve efficiency.
- Vendor Onboarding: Coordinate with Finance and Security teams to ensure vendors complete necessary due diligence questionnaires during the contracting phase.
What you will bring:
- Experience: 2–5 years of experience in contract administration, legal operations, or a paralegal role, preferably within a tech or fast-paced corporate environment.
- Education: Post-secondary education (Bachelor’s degree or College Diploma); a Paralegal certificate is highly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with eSignature tools, Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) software, and legal drafting solutions.
- Drafting Capability: Experience reviewing standard contracts and spotting deviations from standard terms; ability to interpret basic legal concepts (confidentiality, term, termination).
- Organizational Superpower: specific attention to detail with the ability to manage high volumes of paperwork and track multiple deadlines without letting things slip through the cracks.
- Communication: Ability to explain the status of a contract clearly to non-legal business partners and chase down approvals diplomatically.
Bonus Points for:
- Experience or interest in privacy law
- Experience or interest in artificial intelligence, creating prompts, and setting up playbooks
