About the Role
TheFederal Operations Manager plays a critical role in ensuring Armada’s success across federal customers by owning contract execution after award and translating signed deals into delivered outcomes. This role blends operational leadership, technical fluency, and customer engagement to ensure federal projects are executed on time, on budget, and to the highest performance standards.
The Federal Operations Manager serves as the primary execution lead for multiple concurrent federal projects across civilian agencies and defense-adjacent organizations. They interface directly with federal customers during kickoff, execution, and closeout, while coordinating closely with Armada’s sales, product, engineering, finance, and partner teams to deliver Atlas SaaS, Galleon IaaS, AI-enabled edge solutions—or integrated combinations of all three. This role is instrumental in building trust with federal customers, maintaining operational excellence, ensuring compliance, and identifying opportunities to expand scope and value during execution.

What You'll Do (Key Responsibilities)
Project & Contract Execution

Own post-award execution for multiple federal contracts, ensuring delivery against Statements of Work (SOWs), timelines, milestones, and performance objectives.

Lead project kickoffs with federal customers, establishing clear expectations, governance structures, and communication cadences.

Manage end-to-end execution across Atlas SaaS deployments, Galleon edge infrastructure, AI/edge compute solutions, or hybrid offerings.
Customer Engagement & Delivery

Act as Armada’s primary operational interface with federal customers during project execution.

Build strong, trust-based relationships with government program managers, CORs, and technical stakeholders.

Ensure customer satisfaction through disciplined execution, proactive issue resolution, and transparent communication.
Cross-Functional Coordination

Coordinate across product, engineering, sales, finance, logistics, and partner teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Translate customer requirements into actionable execution plans and ensure internal teams remain aligned and accountable.

Support sales teams during execution by identifying upsell, expansion, and follow-on opportunities.
Operational Management & Reporting

Track and manage schedules, deliverables, dependencies, and risks across multiple concurrent projects.

Own project-level reporting, including status updates, milestone tracking, performance metrics, and executive summaries.

Monitor contract financials, including burn rates, invoicing milestones, payments, and margin performance in partnership with finance.
Compliance, Risk & Process Management

Ensure compliance with federal contract requirements, security protocols, and applicable regulations.

Identify and mitigate operational, technical, and schedule risks.

Maintain accurate documentation to support audits, reviews, and contract closeout activities.
Process Improvement & Scale

Identify operational inefficiencies and implement repeatable processes and best practices to scale federal delivery.

Contribute to continuous improvement of Armada’s federal operations playbooks, templates, and execution frameworks.
Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

4–7 years of experience in operations, program management, or project delivery for federal customers.

Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with competing timelines and stakeholders.

Strong understanding of federal contracting fundamentals, including SOWs, deliverables, milestones, and invoicing.

Technical fluency across IT infrastructure, SaaS platforms, cloud or edge computing, and/or AI-enabled systems.

Experience serving as a customer-facing execution lead with federal stakeholders.

Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to timelines, deliverables, and performance tracking.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive-level reporting.

Self-directed, accountable, and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment.
Preferred Qualifications

Experience delivering solutions involving edge computing, hybrid cloud, AI/ML, or infrastructure-as-a-service.

Familiarity with federal security, compliance, and data handling requirements.

Experience working across both civilian federal agencies and defense-adjacent organizations.

PMP or similar project or program management certification.

Experience supporting contract modifications, task orders, or scope expansions during execution.

Prior experience in high-growth or startup environments where ownership and execution rigor were essential.

Compensation & Benefits
For U.S. Based candidates: To ensure fairness and transparency, the on-target earnings salary range for this role for candidates in the U.S. are listed, varying based on location experience, skills, and qualifications. In addition to the salary, this role will also be offered equity and subsidized benefits (details available upon request).

Base Salary Range: $115,000 – $140,000 USD, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
