In this role, you will shape the technical backbone of large-scale digital content systems that power how audiences access and experience news and media across multiple platforms. You will act as a key architecture leader within an agile engineering environment, driving decisions on data ingestion, integration, distribution, and system design. Your work will directly influence the performance, scalability, and reliability of content systems used by millions of users. You will collaborate closely with product, engineering, and technical stakeholders to define modern architectural standards and ensure best practices across the organization. This is a strategic and hands-on role that combines system design, technical leadership, and innovation in a fast-evolving digital media landscape. You will contribute to building resilient, future-ready data ecosystems that support national-scale storytelling and content delivery.
Accountabilities:
- Lead cross-team collaboration to resolve complex architectural and technical challenges in content data systems
- Define, promote, and enforce architecture standards, frameworks, and best practices for data ingestion and distribution
- Design scalable and resilient system architectures supporting content delivery and integration across platforms
- Guide decisions on build vs buy, technology selection, and long-term technical strategy
- Support development teams in optimizing CI/CD pipelines, deployment processes, and system reliability
- Produce high-quality architecture documentation and technical artifacts to support decision-making and alignment
- Drive improvements in data integration models, messaging systems, and distributed system design
- Contribute to strategic planning for data access, governance, and operational excellence
Requirements:
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical leadership roles
- Strong expertise in data systems including ingestion, integration, governance, modeling, and storage
- Experience with microservices architecture, GraphQL, and enterprise integration patterns
- Hands-on experience with messaging systems such as Kafka or RabbitMQ
- Strong knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, MySQL)
- Solid understanding of distributed systems, caching, and CDN architectures
- Experience producing detailed architecture documentation and technical design artifacts
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java or similar, with familiarity in modern frameworks
- Strong ability to translate technical strategy into scalable system designs
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
