This role is focused on designing and evolving modern, scalable data architectures in cloud environments, with a strong emphasis on AWS and Lakehouse-based solutions. You will play a strategic role in defining how data is ingested, processed, governed, and made available across the organization, enabling analytics, operational use cases, and AI initiatives. The position involves close collaboration with engineering teams and business stakeholders to ensure data platforms are secure, efficient, and aligned with enterprise needs. You will also contribute to architectural standards, best practices, and the continuous improvement of data ecosystems. The environment is highly collaborative and innovation-driven, with exposure to large-scale, complex data challenges. Accountabilities:
- Define, evolve, and govern the enterprise data architecture in AWS, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
- Design and implement Lakehouse solutions using Databricks, Delta Lake, and modern data engineering patterns.
- Establish and enforce standards for data modeling, governance, security, and development best practices.
- Define and optimize data ingestion strategies, including batch, streaming, incremental loads, and CDC pipelines.
- Guide and support data engineering teams in building robust, high-performance data pipelines and solutions.
- Conduct technical architecture reviews, ensuring adherence to best practices and architectural consistency.
- Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across multiple data sources and systems.
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable data solutions.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Data Architect working with AWS-based data solutions.
- Strong expertise in AWS services such as S3, IAM, Glue, Lambda, DMS, Secrets Manager, and CloudWatch.
- Hands-on experience with Databricks ecosystem, including Apache Spark, PySpark, Spark SQL, Delta Lake, Unity Catalog, Workflows, and Auto Loader.
- Solid background in data modeling for analytical environments, including Data Warehouse and Lakehouse architectures.
- Strong knowledge of dimensional modeling and relational databases.
- Experience designing and implementing ETL/ELT pipelines and data integration solutions.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and code versioning practices.
- English proficiency for technical communication and collaboration.
- Nice to have: multi-cloud experience, data governance and LGPD knowledge, and certifications in AWS or Databricks.
- Strong soft skills including communication, autonomy, proactivity, and ability to translate complex technical topics for different audiences.
