This role offers a strategic leadership opportunity within clinical development, overseeing operational and tactical aspects of clinical programs from early-phase studies to post-approval activities. You will provide operational expertise, guide trial design, and ensure that clinical operations align with program objectives, budgets, and regulatory requirements. Acting as a central point of contact for cross-functional teams, you will identify risks, implement mitigation strategies, and foster collaboration with internal and external partners. Accountabilities:
- Lead operational aspects of clinical development across assigned therapeutic indications or assets, ensuring execution aligns with objectives, timelines, and budgets.
- Provide input to Clinical Development Plans (CDPs), Objectives, Goals, Strategies and Measures (OGSMs), and trial design, including regulatory strategy.
- Act as primary point of contact for operational clinical activities and escalation, collaborating with cross-functional teams including Project Managers, Trial Leads, and Finance.
- Drive risk management, proactively identifying and mitigating issues, and supporting problem-solving across trials.
- Oversee clinical trial budgets, resources, and timelines; support selection of sites, countries, CROs, and external collaborators.
- Ensure high-quality documentation and reporting for trials, including protocols, amendments, dashboards, and regulatory submissions.
- Mentor, coach, and enable development of Clinical Trial Leads and Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Support continuous improvement by sharing lessons learned and promoting consistency across trials and programs.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in medical or para-medical fields (e.g., Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Pharmacy, Veterinary) or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 15 years of leadership experience in Clinical Development, including global trial oversight and experience in outsourced models.
- Proven ability to manage complex clinical operations, including budgets, timelines, resources, and cross-functional collaboration.
- Strong leadership, people management, and team-building skills, with a track record of coaching and developing high-performing teams.
- Deep knowledge of ICH-GCP guidelines and other relevant regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to operate in culturally diverse, global teams.
- Proactive problem-solving and risk mitigation abilities, capable of managing complexity and ambiguity.
- Experience in rare disease and/or autoimmune clinical trials is a plus.
