Lovable·about 24 hours ago
TL;DR:
Lovable is growing at terminal velocity. We need a Lead Commercial Counsel who thinks like a Revenue Architect. Your mission is to be the ultimate support system for our Sales and GTM teams - navigating high-stakes enterprise negotiations and building the automated "legal engine" that lets us close deals at 10x the standard speed.
Why Lovable?
Change the world, literally: 2026 is the year AI works. Lovable is building the most powerful AI software-creation platform.
Work with exceptional people: We’re assembling one of the world’s strongest technical teams. You’ll work alongside founders, execs, and sales leaders closing deals with the world’s largest enterprises.
Legal as a growth lever: At Lovable, legal is not “back office.” Done right, you’ll be a direct driver of revenue velocity and customer trust.
Top-of-market comp: Cash + equity. We pay above market for impact, not pedigree.
Global stage: We’re a top AI brand. You’ll navigate the complexities of selling AI into the US, EU, and beyond.
What we’re looking for:
Relevant Experience: 6-12 years of legal experience, with at least 2–4 years in-house at a high-growth SaaS company (Series B-D preferred) in a senior commercial legal role. You’ve handled 6-figure enterprise deals and know exactly where the standard sticking points live.
High-Velocity Sales Partner: You are the Sales team's best friend. You understand that "legal friction" is a deal-killer. You find workable solutions to enterprise security and liability concerns in real-time, not in three business days.
Automation Obsessed: You have a "developer mindset." If you have to negotiate the same clause twice, you’d rather build a playbook, a self-service tool, or an automated workflow to handle it. You likely use AI agents and LLMs daily to 10x your own drafting speed.
Master of the Deal: You are comfortable drafting and iterating on Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Enterprise T&Cs, and Data Processing Addendums (DPAs) from scratch. You see a contract as a user interface-it should be clear, fair, and designed to scale.
Nuanced Problem Solver: You know that $500k+ deals often hinge on three or four specific points (IP, liability, data provenance). You are excellent at finding the "third way" that protects Lovable while meeting enterprise requirements.
Pragmatic Risk Tolerance: In the AI frontier, there is no perfect playbook. You are comfortable making high-stakes decisions with 70% of the data, balancing long-term protection with the urgent need to win market share.
Bias for Action: You’d rather hop on a 5-minute call to solve a blocker than write a 5-page memo.
What you’ll do:
Build the Commercial Engine: Design the templates, automated workflows, and fallback playbooks that allow our sales team to move from "Hello" to "Signed" with minimal manual intervention.
Solve the Sticking Points: Act as the high-leverage point of contact for the complex bits. When a Fortune 500 legal team has a specific AI-related concern, you step in with a practical solution.
Automate Legal Ops: Use Lovable and other AI tools to build a self-service culture. Your goal is for the Sales team to handle standard negotiations without you ever seeing the document.
Regulatory Translation: Stay ahead of the EU AI Act, GDPR, and the Data Act. You turn these into competitive advantages by building compliance directly into our commercial terms.
Scale Prep: Build the governance and compliance hygiene now that makes future audits and global expansion feel like a non-event.
The Challenge
This isn't about being a "deal-closer" in the traditional sense; it’s about being a Systems Architect. You are responsible for the nuts and bolts of our commercial legal engine. You’ll spend your time figuring out how to bake complex AI regulations into simple, automated contract logic. Ready to build the legal engine for the most exciting AI company in the world?
