About The Role
Solar Landscape is hiring a Senior Associate, Strategic Transactions to support the execution of complex partnership transactions and market expansion initiatives that are redefining how distributed clean energy is developed across the United States.
Reporting directly to the Director, Strategic Transactions, this role is a core member of a small, senior execution team responsible for advancing innovative, non-standard transactions in new markets. The Senior Associate will play a critical role in translating commercial concepts, regulatory frameworks, and development realities into rigorous economic analysis and execution support.
This role offers exceptional exposure to senior decision-makers, counterparties, and first-of-their-kind transaction structures.
This role will be based in the NY / NJ metro area and is expected to be in-office 3–4 days per week.
Responsibilities
- Transaction Support & Execution: Support live negotiations by preparing pricing analyses, sensitivities, and scenario comparisons. Evaluate commercial terms and assess their impact on project- and portfolio-level economics. Track transaction milestones, open issues, and diligence items across internal and external workstreams.
- Financial Modeling & Economics: Build and maintain financial models for partnership transactions, asset sales, and programmatic structures. Support valuation analyses for project- and portfolio-level divestments. Coordinate with Finance to ensure modeling assumptions align with underwriting standards and risk tolerances.
- Market & Program Analysis: Support evaluation of new markets and emerging product structures in collaboration with the Director, Strategic Transactions. Translate regulatory and utility program inputs from the Policy team into economic and execution implications. Identify key sensitivities, constraints, and scalability considerations for new opportunities.
- Internal Coordination: Work closely with Development, Policy, Legal, and Finance teams to ensure analyses reflect real-world execution constraints. Contribute to the development of repeatable analytical tools, templates, and internal decision frameworks.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in consulting, finance, renewable energy development, or infrastructure investing.
- Strong Excel-based financial modeling skills; project finance experience preferred.
- Familiarity with energy markets, infrastructure projects, or complex commercial transactions.
- Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, and ability to synthesize complex inputs.
- Clear written communication skills and comfort supporting senior stakeholders.
