About Mentis AI
Mentis AI is a fast-growing, well-funded startup that helps the world's leading AI labs build smarter financial AI. We connect elite finance professionals with AI companies to train, evaluate, and improve the models that are reshaping investment banking, equity research, and credit analysis.
This is not a typical internship. You'll work directly with our founding team and senior finance practitioners on projects that shape how AI understands financial markets.
What You'll Do
Your day-to-day work will be hands-on, analytical, and directly impactful:
Build and execute financial models β construct DCF valuations, comparable company analyses, LBO models, and credit assessments that serve as training data and evaluation benchmarks for AI systems.
Perform deep financial analysis β analyse earnings reports, dissect financial statements, assess credit metrics, and produce institutional-quality research outputs that teach AI models how finance professionals actually think.
Design evaluation frameworks β create scoring rubrics and benchmarks that test whether AI models can handle real-world finance scenarios: merger analysis, debt structuring, equity valuation, and more.
Develop annotation guidelines β translate complex finance workflows (deal origination, due diligence, credit committee processes) into precise, structured labelling instructions for AI training.
Stress-test AI outputs β review and critique model-generated financial analyses, identifying errors in logic, methodology, or market understanding that a trained analyst would catch.
Collaborate with ML engineers β work cross-functionally to refine prompts, iterate on data quality, and improve model performance in finance-specific tasks.
