The Sr. Accounting Manager, Revenue Latam is responsible for the end to end accounting for the billing to cash processes for all revenue streams including; Affiliate sales across PayTV, Premium Channels and Partnerships, Direct Ad Sales and Ad Sales representations, as well as Direct to Consumer revenues, in accordance with US GAAP across all entities within the Latam Hub & Spanish Latam joint venture (SPL).
This is a temporary to permanent position. This is a project/limited term position with the opportunity to become an internal staff position, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed.
This position will report to the Sr. Director, Finance & Operations and manages a team of three with additional support from offshore accountants. The position also works closely with the FP&A and Accounting team in Miami and the Billing & Collections team in Mexico and Colombia.
Responsibilities
Operational Excellence
- Oversee the end-to-end revenue lifecycle for Affiliate and Ad Sales portfolios across LATAM, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with contractual terms, and US GAAP accounting requirements.
- Responsible for accurate & timely financial accounting across all revenue streams & related commissions & incentives as part of monthly close process. Involves journal entry review, Interco management, P&L variance analysis and decision making in judgmental areas.
- Monthly reporting of revenue financials and balance sheet reviews to senior management, for all LatAm entities, including presentation of the monthly closing analysis and risks and opportunities to the Regional Financial Controller and SVP of Finance & Affiliates.
- Ownership of all revenue related balances incl. statutory accounts process, corporate reporting requirements, account reconciliations and balance sheet reviews.
- Ownership & approval of annual agency incentive and sales commission settlements
- Responsible for issuing & maintaining accounting guidance for new revenue streams in accordance with US GAAP & NBCU Policy.
Team Leadership and Collaboration:
- Lead and manage a team of 2 Accountants and 1 Manager and offshore resources, fostering a high-performing, collaborative, and engaged team culture.
- Drive team development through coaching, training, goal setting, and performance management.
- Collaborate with Billing & Collections team in Mexico and Colombia, as well as 3rd party affiliates distribution partners, to ensure all billings & collections are accurately accounted for.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, offering financial insights and recommendations to support commercial and strategic decisions.
Business Transformation and Project Management:
- Drive the successful implementation and pivot to DTC launch in Latin America by supporting the execution of all revenue related aspects of the project.
- Develop and implement financial controls, processes, and systems to support the new platform's operations and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Support the end-to-end implementation of SAP S/4HANA across the LATAM region revenue streams, ensuring alignment with global standards and regional business requirements
- Assist the Sr. Director, Finance & Operations in ad hoc finance projects such as systems Implementation to drive controllership, simplification and automation improvements
Finance Operations Systems Improvement & Transformation Analysis:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and execute projects that drive transformation and efficiencies in revenue operations and systems.
- Conduct, where applicable, financial analysis, including revenue projections, cost analysis, and ROI assessments, to support decision-making and ensure financial goals are met.
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in accounting with post-graduate accounting qualification (CA, CPA or equivalent) and Big 4 experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel spreadsheets) and accounting software applications (SAP)
- Strong attention to detail with proven ability to resolve problems
- Ability to operate in a diverse, global environment
- A very high standard for accuracy of reporting and consistency of control
- Ability to work independently under general supervision
- Bilingual: Fluent in English and Spanish, with work experience in international companies both oral and written; Portuguese is a plus

- Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders as well as collaborate, motivate and create relationships with others
- Demonstrated experience in Finance transformation and process improvement
