Summary
We are seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Accountant to join our Finance team and play a key role in maintaining the company’s financial health through effective accounts receivable and collections management. This individual will manage collections activities with a high degree of independence, while partnering closely with an existing Senior AR Accountant to jointly own collections performance and customer payment outcomes.
The Accounts Receivable Accountant will also contribute to initiatives such as system implementations and the development of scalable collections processes. Responsibilities across the AR function may evolve based on business needs, system changes, and individual strengths, with an expectation of strong collaboration and shared accountability.
The ideal candidate combines strong technical AR expertise with sound judgment, a process improvement mindset, and the confidence to operate independently in a fast-growing environment. Successful individuals will be able to manage multiple data sources and leverage technology to drive improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Independently manage assigned accounts receivable and collections activities, including proactive customer outreach to drive resolution of delinquent balances
- Analyze aging reports to identify trends, risks, and collection priorities
- Resolve customer billing questions and disputes in collaboration with Sales and other cross functional partners
- Exercise sound judgment in collections strategy, escalating issues to the AR Manager as appropriate
- Develop and maintain checks and balances to proactively identify errors or breakdowns in AR processes
- Support other accounting functions, such as Accounts Payable and general accounting, as needed
- Assist with ad hoc projects and initiatives as the company continues to scale
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance with 4-7 years of general accounting experience
- At least 5 years of billing and collections experience is a must
- Demonstrated ability to manage collections activities with minimal supervision
- Experience in SaaS subscription and usage based billing environments
- Experience with existing software tools, QuickBooks, Stripe, Salesforce, and advanced Excel skills is preferred
- Experience with Metronome, Anrok, and NetSuite is a plus
Compensation
- The estimated pay range for this role is $100,000-$125,000
- Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Temporal’s equity plan.
Compensation ranges reflect salary and commission compensation (when applicable) across several geographic markets. Employment offers carefully consider multiple factors, including prior experience, knowledge, expertise, skillset, market location, and job level assessed during the interview process.
