The Opportunity
Iru is looking for a contract Field Marketing Manager to lead the planning and execution of our event program across major conferences, mid-sized industry events, private invite-only events, and community meetups within the cybersecurity space.
This role is highly hands-on and execution-focused, with meaningful ownership over how events are delivered on the ground. You’ll work closely with Iru’s marketing team while independently managing logistics, vendors, timelines, and on-site operations to ensure every event runs smoothly and reflects Iru’s brand.
While execution is the primary focus, we value operators who bring strong judgment, surface opportunities for improvement, and contribute ideas that elevate the overall event experience.
What You'll Do
- Execute Iru’s event program across a mix of large-scale conferences, mid-tier industry events, private invite-only events, and community meetups
- Manage large industry conferences where Iru sponsors and operates booths, supporting events with audiences of 50,000+ attendees
- Oversee mid-sized conferences with streamlined booth builds, handling logistics, staffing coordination, and on-site execution
- Plan and run private, invite-only events, including venue coordination, guest experience, AV, catering, and day-of logistics
- Organize and support community-focused events and meetups aimed at cybersecurity professionals
- Own all event logistics end-to-end, including vendor coordination, contracts, timelines, budgets, shipping, travel, and production details
- Coordinate closely with internal marketing and sales teams to ensure booths, demos, staffing, and materials are executed as planned
- Coordinate public relations and speaking logistics around events, including working with Iru’s PR agency to schedule media and analyst briefings, and managing speaker submissions and logistics for Iru presenters at conferences
- Plan and manage event swag and physical materials, working with vendors to ensure quality, timelines, and alignment with Iru’s brand
- Manage large-scale event setup, breakdown, and day-of operations with attention to detail and professionalism
What You'll Bring
- 5+ years of experience executing B2B events, ideally in cybersecurity, enterprise SaaS, or technical B2B environments
- Proven experience running large conferences, field events, private invite-only events, and meetups as the primary execution owner
- Deep hands-on experience with event logistics, vendors, booth builds, shipping, AV, catering, and on-site operations
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage many moving parts simultaneously
- Experience working cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales, and partner teams
- Comfort managing budgets, invoices, and vendor negotiations
- Highly organized, proactive, and reliable with strong follow-through
- Comfortable working in fast-paced startup environments with evolving needs
Contract Details
- The contract will initially be around 4-6 months long; part time support may be needed further in the future based on business needs and mutual fit
- Location is flexible - travel will be required for select priority events only. Most events are supported by experienced on-site teams, with in-person attendance required for two major conferences (currently two key events on West Coast, including one in late March)
