This is a senior technical leadership opportunity supporting the modernization of a mission-critical technology platform within the banking sector. You will own and evolve the architecture behind foundational capabilities spanning infrastructure, data, and observability. The role combines strategic architecture with hands-on engineering, giving you direct influence over technology choices, technical standards, and delivery quality. You will work with distributed systems, cloud-native technologies, microservices, and high-volume transactional workloads. Collaboration with engineering squads and business stakeholders will be essential to translating complex requirements into scalable and resilient solutions. This is an environment where architectural thinking, technical depth, innovation, and continuous improvement are highly valued.
Accountabilities:
- Define, validate, and continuously evolve the software architecture for a platform covering foundations, observability, data, and infrastructure.
- Evaluate and select technologies, frameworks, and architectural patterns based on scalability, performance, security, maintainability, and usability.
- Create and maintain architecture diagrams, Architecture Decision Records (ADRs), and technical documentation covering platform components and their interactions.
- Establish and promote software architecture standards, design patterns, engineering practices, and technical guidelines across the squad.
- Manage the architectural backlog, including technical debt, improvements, risks, and evolutionary initiatives, aligning priorities with the team's roadmap.
- Take hands-on ownership of proofs of concept, technical design, architecture reviews, and code reviews to ensure implementation quality and architectural consistency.
- Identify technical risks early and develop mitigation strategies to prevent issues during development and production.
- Support the technical growth of engineers by sharing knowledge, mentoring team members, and strengthening engineering practices.
- Research emerging technologies and approaches, recommending innovations that can improve platform capabilities and engineering efficiency.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to communicate the technical vision, align expectations, and support strategic technology decisions.
Requirements:
- Solid experience as a Software Architect or Tech Lead working on complex, mission-critical technology projects.
- Strong expertise in .NET, microservices architecture, and production-grade API design.
- Extensive experience with AWS, including compute, networking, security, and managed cloud services.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes/EKS and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or CDK.
- Strong knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and practical application of software architecture patterns.
- Advanced experience with observability for distributed systems, including structured logging, metrics, distributed tracing, and SLOs/SLIs.
- Experience with Oracle and large-scale data modeling.
- Professional experience with messaging technologies such as Kafka and/or RabbitMQ in high-volume transactional environments.
- Strong background in distributed, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on technical leadership approach, with the ability to contribute directly to design decisions, PoCs, architecture reviews, and code.
- Experience working in agile and multi-squad environments, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Previous experience with banking platforms, particularly lending or credit, or other regulated environments is a strong advantage.
- Experience modernizing legacy systems such as Sybase or VB6 and applying approaches such as Strangler Fig, Anti-Corruption Layer (ACL), and Change Data Capture (CDC) is desirable.
- Additional expertise in Oracle Exadata, AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code or Cursor, Clean/Hexagonal Architecture, CQRS, Event Sourcing, service mesh, API gateways, and cloud-native platform patterns is highly valued.
- Experience with highly available systems and large-scale transactional workloads is an advantage.
- For candidates residing in the Campinas Metropolitan Region, willingness to work from the local office according to the applicable hybrid attendance policy is required.

- Online resources focused on physical health, mental health, and overall wellbeing.
- Pregnancy and responsible-parenting support programs.
- Inclusive workplace with dedicated health, wellbeing, and inclusion support.
- Opportunities to work on complex technology modernization initiatives with significant business impact.
- Hybrid work environment, subject to applicable location and attendance policies.
- Ongoing opportunities for technical development, knowledge sharing, and career growth.
